As election days draws nearer, the leftist mainstream media steadily increases its
messaging that Trump is politically “dead.” Yet, in reality, a significant
number of generally reliable indicators suggest that he’s certainly not.
Today, according to FoxNews.com: WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange’s
Internet link was severed by a “state party” and “appropriate contingency
plans” had been activated.
“The website’s announcement came hours after it published three cryptic
tweets. The messages referenced Ecuador, Secretary of State John Kerry and the
United Kingdom’s Foreign Commonwealth Office. Each tweet was matched with a
string of numbers.”
Which raises the question that if the race were truly over, why would any "state party" worry about
Assange at all?
At the same time, while most polls cited in the press show Trump behind,
the USC Dornsife/LA Times Presidential Election "Daybreak" Poll has him
ahead 44.8% to 43.7% and who’s to say they’re wrong?
In another, perhaps even more valid illustration of Trump’s continuing
viability, Monica Alba @nbcnews.com reports: “Hillary Clinton hunkered
down for an intensive weekend of prep ahead of Wednesday's third and final
presidential in Las Vegas.
“The Democratic nominee has made no appearances since Friday and has nothing
on her calendar until the final debate.”
Arriving home from a West Coast fundraising trip Saturday, she did a
five-hour afternoon session at a Westchester resort near her home. Then on
Sunday, she did two more sessions, and is expected to devote Monday and Tuesday
to prep, before a likely final session in Vegas on Wednesday before the final
matchup.
Which raises the question that if Trump’s truly finished, what does she need
to do all that preparation for?
The theme is continued this morning by Michael Goodwin @nypost.com
today who wrote: “Michelle Obama’s emotional speech denouncing Donald Trump for
alleged sexual misconduct last week got rave reviews from the left. She called
Trump’s words and reported actions “shocking” and “demeaning,” and below “basic
standards of human decency.”
“Well said, and she gave a moving performance — but it would have been more
powerful if the first lady had dared to say the same things about the proven
sexual misconduct of fellow Democrats Bill Clinton or the late Ted Kennedy. Or
if she had denounced the crude rappers she invites to the White House for their
“demeaning” lyrics about women.
“But she didn’t, which spotlights the Achilles’ heel of her argument. To wit,
selective outrage in the service of partisan politics is neither moral nor
persuasive.
“Politics, someone once said, ain’t beanbag, and there is nothing more
hardball than the stretch run of this year’s presidential campaign. The only
rule is that there are no rules.”
And then, after pointing out that vulnerability strongly exists on the
Democrat side, Mr. Goodwin focused on some specifics, as follows: “It is a joyless and soulless mud battle that is dispiriting and leaves
little time for the vital matters the next president will face in just three
months.
“To cite a few: The collapse of ObamaCare, the erosion of middle-class
incomes and the outbreak of murder, arson and looting in major cities, the
metastasizing of Islamic terrorism, Iran’s expanding aggressions and a growing
confrontation with Russia. Then there’s the Supreme Court.
“Barack Obama’s regime is crash-landing, making it imperative that the next
president be ready on Day One. Staggering challenges and crises await the
winner, so let’s choose wisely, and for the right reasons.”
All of which is the underlying foundation that’s kept Trump in the race to
date, and polls notwithstanding, may very well put him in the White House in
January. Which is what Bill Clinton’s wife’s campaign is rightfully worried
about, because those political experts know that she not only has no answers,
she's also a major cause of the problems.
And then, a Facebook friend posted this one:
Which brings us to today’s update on Bill Clinton’s wife, that comes from
Cabot Phillips @campusreform.org, who writes: “This week, Fox News
released a poll indicating the majority of Americans view Hillary Clinton as a
positive role model.
“Campus Reform wanted to see if this same sentiment rang true on
college campuses, and if young voters could point to a major accomplishment that
indicated Secretary Clinton makes for a good role model.
To find out, Mr. Phillips went to Georgetown University, asking students who
they were planning to vote for in November, followed by whether they agreed with
the findings of the poll.
Mr. Phillips writes: "After discovering the vast majority of students interviewed were Hillary
Clinton supporters who agreed that she was a strong role model, I asked if they
could point to a single accomplishment or experience which stood out to them.
“It soon became abundantly clear that most of them could not.”
While the vast majority of students were unable to recall any achievements by
Bill’s wife at all, here’s a sample of what most of them said: “No, I cannot
think of something off the top of my head,” and “I wish I had a good answer for
that honestly… I don’t.”
So, this is another confirmation of why Bill’s wife is likely perceiving
problems, even though the MSM has declared her the winner. Because, no matter
what the press corps chooses to write, or how very much they hope for a victory,
it’s voters who make the final decision, not them.
Bringing up the ongoing question again: Bernie Sanders, Joe Biden, Jerry
Brown, and Starbucks chairman and CEO, Howard Schultz, are you guys are reading
this?
That's it for today folks.
Adios
