BloggeRhythms 9/6/2012

Didn’t watch the Dem convention again yesterday, and I’m pretty glad about that. Because I don’t own a pair of hip waders and likely would have needed them, because the BS got pretty deep. Especially in the case of Bill Clinton.

Slick Willy proved once again that the truth matters very little to him, personal satisfaction continually heading his list of desires.  And although I have no clue as to what he hopes to gain for himself, or how, I think it’s obvious that something's brewing.

In Charlotte last night, he asked, “Are we where we want to be today? No. Is the president satisfied? Of course not. But are we better off than when he took office? Of course.” And in my book, that premise qualifies as a whopper.

Now, I don’t really know how often Willy lies, nor do I really care. I just know that it’s his forte and assume it happens fairly often. And I also know that he was impeached by the House of Representatives on two charges, one of perjury and one of obstruction of justice, on December 19, 1998.

Beyond that, a further proof of fabrication appeared yesterday as well, when a World Economic Forum (WEF) survey established that “the United States has slipped further down a global ranking of the world's most competitive economies.” Our nation, which is the  world's largest economy, placed 5th last year and is now in 7th spot, marking its fourth year of decline.

The WEF reports that “A lack of macroeconomic stability, the business community’s continued mistrust of the government and concerns over its fiscal health were some of the reasons for the downgrade, according to the annual survey.”

Additionally, “Political deadlock over reducing the unsustainable federal government budget deficit – projected to hit $1.1 trillion this year – prompted Standard & Poor’s to downgrade the country’s credit rating by one notch to AA+ from AAA last August.” While ”A mix of U.S. tax hikes and spending cuts – referred to as the "fiscal cliff" - are set to come into force in January unless lawmakers reach a compromise for avoiding them.”

Meanwhile, “Switzerland and Singapore retained their positions as the most competitive economies, coming in 1st and 2nd, respectively.”

So, once again, when it comes to truths, hard data or veracity in general, I don’t really think Willy’s a go-to guy. Because maybe the hard-core Kool-Aid swillers will accept his fabrications, but I doubt they ever look at actual facts. And I also expect that if the incumbent’s boat continues to sink, women, kids and the weaker one’s on board better get out of Willy’s way quick, because he’ll push them aside really hard as he tries to save himself by getting off first.

That’s it for today folks.

Adios
