As indications grow that Eric Holder might very well be forced to resign, I have mixed emotions on the subject.

On one hand I’m convinced he’s almost certainly guilty of misusing his position and resources for the administration’s political gain, absolutely deserving termination if true. On the other I don’t want the investigations of his probable misdeeds to end upon his departure. Because it seems highly likely that his instructions originated in the White House, most probably from the incumbent himself.

Ideally however, if investigations into his actions are handled properly, leading to the possibilities of serious sanctions, ruination of his career, perhaps even jail time, there’s a distinct chance he’d trade off damaging information for leniency in sentencing. And that might very well open the doors all the way to the top.

In the meantime, something else likely helpful to the Republican hopes for the future happened today. Michelle Bachmann decided not to run as a Congressional Representative from Minnesota again.

I always found her to be confrontational, abrasive and loud, which might be beneficial qualities for those trying to be heard while delivering their message. However, to me, it’s also scary, unprofessional and often rude as well, which I believe frightens many voters away from the whole party itself.

Furthermore, what the nation really needs at present is financial acumen, energy independence, foreign policy redirection, health tax repeal, and upgraded military strength, none of which are Ms. Bachmann's area of expertise.

And although her experience includes a background in taxation and extensive knowledge of the IRS, its not enough to cure all the rest of the nation’s ills. Therefore, I hope that her dropping out of Congress means she won’t run again for the presidency as well.

That’s it for today folks.

Adios
