BloggeRhythms

Very little new in the news today, most major media splitting their time between the upcoming Democrat presidential primary in California and the passing of Cassius Clay.

An article @losangeles.cbslocal.com via Drudge this morning is titled: “Clinton Vows Amnesty For Illegals In First 100 days...”

Apparently, Bill Clinton's wife told a crowd at Mission College that immigration is at the center of this presidential campaign and that,”In my first 100 days I will introduce legislation for comprehensive immigration reform.”

Criticizing Trump, she said that when he “talks about deporting 11 million immigrants, he’s talking about ripping apart families.”

While immigration is certainly given huge amounts of coverage as a subject, the actual number of illegals residing here is not. Which is why the mention of 11 million jumped of the page. Because, the current U.S. population according to the latest report from the United States Census Bureau is 318.9 million individuals.

So that means, she’s seeking to protect 11 million who break the nation’s laws every day, at the expense of 319 million who don’t. What’s more, that same 319 million upstanding citizens, in one way or another, bear the brunt of the costs related to those who are here illegally. Which means that Trump not only has a solidly valid point in wanting to correct the situation, the overwhelming majority of voters likely agree with him on the subject completely. And, regardless of what any of them will actually publicly admit today, they almost certainly will in November at the polls.

At the same time, according to Ken Thomas @hosted.ap.org, Sanders told reporters in Los Angeles that, “by the end of the primaries on June 14 neither candidate would have enough pledged delegates to declare victory and would be dependent upon superdelegates to reach the magic number.”

And although at present Bill’s wife has a commanding delegate lead overall, 547 of them are “superdelegates.” Without them, the race stands at 1,776 pledged to her, while Sanders trails at 1501, not insurmountable at all.

And that’s why Sanders believes the Democratic National Convention will be contested.

In that regard, Sanders received some apparent support from a major Democrat notable, Senator Elizabeth Warren.

Ben Jacobs @theguardian.com, writes that Warren spoke to reporters at the Massachusetts State Democratic Convention in Lowell on Saturday, siding with “Bernie Sanders in the ongoing fight over superdelegates in the Democratic primary.”

She is quoted as saying: “I’m a superdelegate, and I don’t believe in superdelegates.”

Which might be a very strong indication that Sanders is right in his assumption of a contested convention in July.

Bringing us to today’s update on Bill Clinton's wife.

A headline banner appeared on Drudge today, saying: “SECRET SERVICE BOOK ROCKS CLINTON CAMPAIGN”

The book yet to be released, very little information was available, except for the following blurbs:

Former Secret Service officer Gary Byrne reveals what he observed of Hillary Clinton's character and the culture inside the White House while protecting the First Family.

Titled,“Crisis of Character” “[t]he secret project is causing deep concern inside of Clinton's campaign, sources tell the DRUDGE REPORT.

“Specific details of the agent's confessional are being held under tight embargo.

"What I saw in the 1990s sickened me," Byrne explains. "I want you to hear my story."

Although virtually no specific detail is disclosed, the book’s content page was posted on Amazon.com, where chapter headings indicate why Bill’s wife’s campaign truly might be “rocked” a bit, as follows:

Thus, this potential setback raises the ongoing question once more: Joe Biden, Mayor Bloomberg, Jerry Brown, and Starbuck’s chairman and CEO, Howard Schultz, are you guys reading this?

That’s it for today folks.

Adios
