BloggeRhythms

Lot’s of ongoing stories in the media today, but not much really new. In keeping with the holiday spirit, however, two items stood out on Drudge.

Considering that this is the season especially focused on generosity, amicability and good will to all, the first item illustrates that not everyone takes those pursuits to heart.

Lauren Beale of latimes.com/business/realestate reports that “If you thought Southern California mansions could hardly get more outlandish, consider the latest must-have feature: A moat encircling the property.”

And, I suppose, if that isn’t enough to keep others away from the house, machine gun towers and land mines will be next to come.

Then, while the administration keeps trying to promote what it’s selling as great strides toward peace with Iran, Reuters Parisa Hafeziran writes that, “'Iran’s hardline lawmakers are seeking to increase uranium enrichment under the country's nuclear program to a level that can produce bomb-grade material, a state-run website said on Wednesday.

The bill could bring Tehran into direct conflict with the major powers that reached an interim agreement with Iran in Geneva last month, requiring Tehran to suspend its enrichment of higher grade uranium.”

Ms Hafeziran goes on to note that, “However, Iran's most powerful authority Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has so far backed the accord.”

So, whether its in the friendliest climes in the nation or a hostile region in the Middle-East, I suppose what today’s stories point out is that Santa doesn't seem to spread peace, joy and happiness in places too warm for his heavy red suit and sled.

That’s it for today folks.

Adios
