Amid the delays, malfunctions and disappointments plaguing the incumbent's health care tax, Wisconsin Governor, Scott Walker, offered his constituents an alternative.

According to Fox News on-line, his proposal “would still channel federal subsidies to Wisconsin’s poor and uninsured, but his plan would allow them to purchase coverage directly from the insurer and sidestep the on-line “exchange” created by the Affordable Care Act.”

Fox says, “His idea is getting support, even in the bitterly divided Wisconsin state house. Six Democrats crossed party lines and backed his proposal in the assembly, sending it over to the Senate with a healthy majority” However, “Still, before it goes into effect, Walker’s idea would need the blessing of the Obama administration.”

In that regard, Walker says, “If they don't approve this, this is ultimately exposing that this isn't really about access and this isn't about affordability. It's about government playing a heavier hand in these kinds of decisions.”

At the same time, the incumbent stated, “They sure haven't presented an alternative.  If you ask many of the opponents of this law what exactly they'd do differently, their answer seems to be, well, let's go back to the way things used to be.”

Despite Governor Walker’s plan, as well as several others from Republicans that the incumbent is either unaware of or simply ignoring to make his case, suppose the new tax was cancelled and heath care did go back to what it was before? The fact of the matter was that the nation had the best health care system in the world before he destroyed it.

Consequently, what the incumbent’s done is to paint a mustache on the Mona Lisa and now is daring Republicans to better the painting he’s ruined without wiping the mustache off.

Another indication of horrors to come due to government control of practically anything was evidenced yesterday in the House.

The Wall Street Journal’s Dion Nissenbaum writes in the Washington Wire via Drudge, that “Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R., Calif.) had a simple question Wednesday for three of the Obama administration’s top Afghanistan specialists: How many American troops have been killed in Afghanistan this year?”

Ms Nissenbaum notes that, “None of the witnesses at the House Foreign Affairs Committee hearing on Afghanistan had an answer.”

And then, “How much is the U.S. spending in Afghanistan? Mr. Rohrabacher asked.

No one could say.”

The hearing went downhill from there, as follows: “We’re supposed to believe that you fellas have a plan that’s going to end up in a positive way in Afghanistan?” Mr. Rohrabacher asked. “Holy cow!”

Mr. Rohrabacher’s incredulous questioning came during a two-hour hearing on U.S. policy in Afghanistan that revealed increasing congressional frustration with U.S. policy as the administration tries to rescue its plan to keep thousands of troops in Afghanistan through the end of this decade, if not beyond.

Rep. Gerry Connolly (D., Va.) called the witnesses’ inability to rattle off the facts “a stunning development.”

“How can you come to a congressional oversight hearing on this subject and not know” the answers? He asked. “Like that wouldn’t be a question on the tip of one’s tongue.”

So, here we have a vivid example of how government does things.

According to Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Ed Royce (R., Calif.) the U.S. spends about $6.7 billion a month on the war in Afghanistan, yet none of the incumbent’s top Afghanistan specialists seemed to know that. Which not only provides a perfect illustration of what to expect in the administration of the health care tax, but makes one wonder if Kathleen Sebelius is in charge of Afghanistan too.

That’s it for today folks.

Adios
