BloggeRhythms

As the nation takes its first step in a new direction today, countless items address varying opinions of what Obama leaves behind as he exits the White House.

Of them all, an article by Terence P. Jeffrey @cnsnews.com, while covering only one aspect of the presidential “legacy,”presents an example of the outgoing POTUS’s performance across all aspects of his governance, as follows:

“President Barack Obama will leave the federal government approximately $9,335,000,000,000 deeper in debt than it was when he took office eight years ago, according to data released today by the U.S. Treasury.

“The increased debt incurred under Obama equals approximately $75,129 for every person in the United States who had a full-time job in December.

“The $9,334,590,089,060.56 that the debt had increased under Obama as of the close of business on Wednesday is far more debt than was accumulated by any previous president. It equals nearly twice as much as the $4,889,100,310,609.44 in additional debt that piled up during the eight years George W. Bush served as president.”

Many other news items address the great concern regarding the incoming PEOTUS’s practical inexperience, publicly feared instability, and personal shortcomings. An example comes from Barbra Streisand who wrote in the Huffington Post that he’s “Clueless, Reckless, Graceless, Mindless and Heartless: Our President Elect."

Similarly, Christopher Bucktin and Kelly-Ann Mills @mirror.co.uk, wrote: “As Donald Trump moves into the world’s most famous home, the Presidential inauguration should mark a moment of great hope for America and the world.

“Yet the country is nervously awaiting their new leader hoping he isn’t the racist bigot and misogynistic liar they saw on the election trail.”

What’s most interesting in this case is that the article was followed by 100 comments, virtually all of them in disagreement with the authors and highly supportive of Trump.
Both the short article itself and the reader’s thoughts are well worth reading to gain the perspective of what people really think. Here’s a link: “http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/world-news/obamas-enjoy-poignant-last-moment-9654225#comments-section

Along the same lines regarding the MSM’s distortion of Trump's favorability among the public, today's “Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 52% of Likely U.S. Voters share a favorable opinion of Trump, with 30% who have a Very Favorable one. The president-elect is viewed unfavorably by 48%, including 37% with a Very Unfavorable view.”

And that’s pretty much the same as the outgoing POTUS’s record until his recent surge at the tail end of his term. However, those very same pollsters had Bill Clinton’s wife as the unbeatable presidential favorite nationwide, illustrating what polls are really worth.

Then another short item, this one by Josh Lederman @yahoo.com, is included simply for the irony.

Mr. Lederman writes: “After Trump is inaugurated on Friday, ex-President Obama will fly by helicopter to Andrews Air Force Base, where he'll speak to longtime aides to thank them for their work. Then he and his family will board the presidential aircraft for their final flight, to California, where they plan a quiet vacation in Palm Springs.”

So, the outgoing POTUS is beginning his new life without missing a beat from the way he spent the last eight years. Except he may have to pay the greens fees himself from now on.
As far as the incoming POTUS is concerned, Pat Buchanan offered some very good advice @wnd.com via Drudge  this morning.

Buchanan notes that “it was Trump who read the nation right, which is why he is taking the oath today.” Particularly because the existential threat to the West no longer comes from the East and primarily, Russia.

Instead, that threat now comes from the South and “the billion-plus peoples of the Maghreb, Middle East and sub-Sahara, whose numbers are exploding, are moving inexorably toward the Med, coming to occupy the empty places left by an aging and dying Europe, all of whose native-born populations steadily shrink.”

As a result, American’s are concerned about their own “bleeding border” which means, according to Buchanan: “President Trump should build the wall, secure the border, impose tariffs, cut taxes, free up the American economy, bring the factories home, create millions of jobs and keep us out of any new wars.”

All of which are the issues that got Trump elected in the first place and are completely ignored, refuted or chastised by the American left. Which is also why Barbra Streisand, and her ilk, may very shortly be singing to themselves.
