BloggeRhythms

Today’s another in which the quite reliable adage “follow the money,” has proven true again.

A few days ago, Meryl Streep received considerable MSM coverage regarding her nearly 6-minute address while accepting the Cecil B. DeMille Award. At the time, she denounced Trump's campaign rhetoric, criticizing him for mocking a disabled reporter.

And then, yesterday, in an article by Patrick Brzeski @hollywoodreporter.com, a highly possible rationale for Hollywood’s using a major star like Streep to chastise the incoming POTUS became far clearer.

While campaigning, and since being elected, Trump’s made it quite clear that foreign nations, and a few in particular will no longer be able to operate as freely within the U.S. as they do currently. One of the targets of Trump's harsh rhetoric is Beijing.

In that regard, Mr. Brzeski writes: “Chinese companies poured record amounts of capital into Hollywood in 2016 — a trend eagerly embraced by the U.S. film industry. Among the deals: Dalian Wanda Group acquired Legendary Entertainment for $3.5 billion and Dick Clark Productions for $1 billion; Alibaba made a major investment in Steven Spielberg's Amblin Entertainment; and Beijing-based Perfect World Pictures put $500 million into 50 films from Universal.

“But tighter regulatory scrutiny and rising protectionism in the U.S. and China now have the industry questioning whether the deal flow could dry up in 2017. Already, there have been casualties.

“Indie film player Voltage Entertainment, producer of The Hurt Locker and Dallas Buyers Club, surprised many in November when plans came to light for a provincial Chinese manufacturing firm to acquire the Los Angeles-based studio for $350 million. But within weeks, the firm, Anhui Xinke New Materials, revealed it was aborting the deal after failing to meet additional documentation requests from local regulators.”

Thus, while Streep may very well have some concerns about remarks made by Trump regarding a disabled reporter, Hollywood's potential loss of billions of Chinese dollars seems a far more likely cause for the film industry’s appreciation of her derogatory Trump comments in one of its major forums.

And then the left continued to demonstrate its huge lack of substance by desperately grasping at a meaningless straw a few short days prior to Trumps inauguration.

According to FoxNews.com today, on Wednesday, Georgia Representative, John Lewis, D-Ga., said on an NBC "Meet the Press" airing on Sunday that he's does not consider Trump a "legitimate president," and blamed the Russians for helping the Republican win the White House. "I think the Russians participated in helping this man get elected. And they helped destroy the candidacy of Hillary Clinton," he said.

Lewis further said: “You know, I believe in forgiveness. I believe in trying to work with people. It will be hard. It's going to be very difficult. I don't see this president-elect as a legitimate president."

The congressman who was a leader in the civil rights movement of the 1960’s, also said he will skip next week's inauguration along with several other Democrats who’ve decided to boycott the historic event.

Trump naturally fired back, tweeting: “Lewis should spend more time on fixing and helping his district, which is in horrible shape and falling apart.”

The preceding interchange stirred thoughts of similar wasted political verbiage when the shoe was on the other foot. Much of which still continues and produces absolutely nothing of value for anyone whatsoever.

According to Wikipedia: “Numerous lawsuits and ballot challenges, based on conspiracy theories related to Barack Obama's eligibility for the United States presidency, have been filed since 2008. These actions have sought to have Obama disqualified from running for, or being confirmed for, the Presidency of the United States, to declare his actions in office to be null and void, or to compel him to release additional documentation related to his U.S. citizenship.”

In that effort, by early 2012, dozens of lawsuits had been filed challenging Obama's eligibility in states including North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Hawaii, Connecticut, New Jersey, Texas and Washington. None granted relief to the plaintiffs by any court or other body.

As a result: “Joseph Farah said via his WorldNetDaily (WND) publication that Obama has decided "to spend sums estimated in the hundreds of thousands of dollars to avoid releasing a state birth certificate that would put to rest all of the questions." WND has since upped the claimed expenditure to $1.7 million, on the basis of the Obama presidential campaign paying out that much since the election to the law firm of Perkins Coie.”

While numerous other cases were also listed, one stood out in memory from January, 2009, when “Orly Taitz filed a lawsuit in federal court, Alan Keyes et al v. Barack H. Obama et al against Obama, with Wiley Drake as one of the named parties for the plaintiff. On July 13, 2009, the presiding judge dismissed the case without prejudice on technical grounds, and on July 14, 2009, Taitz refiled a "First Amended Complaint" Captain Pamela Barnett v. Barack Hussein Obama on behalf of Alan Keyes, Wiley Drake, Cynthia Davis, Gail Lightfoot, several other local politicians, and various armed service members. Taitz sought a declaratory judgment that Obama is ineligible for office and an injunction to void his actions and appointments as President.”

So, in today’s age where most Congressmen have little to do and much time to fill, it’s highly probable that this kind of childish drivel will continue. However, one thing remains quite certain. Trump will remain in office until the natural events for his departure occur, whatever they may turn out to be.

And the proof of that certainty is something Congressman Lewis should be thoroughly familiar with, whereas his allegiance aligns with Democrats and their often targeted idol, Obama.

And then, although not further researched, here’s a comment from reader Denise 20222: “So Trump is not a legitimate president he claims. Well what about obama. Here is a list of records he still has not allowed the public to see. Ask yourself why would he hide ALL these records if he has nothing to hide. I say obama was not a legitimate president,

“Obama kindergarten records

That's it for today folks.

Adios
