For those watching the terrorism plaguing Paris that are forgetful, a couple of older news items might prove helpful.
Michael Daly @thedailybeast.com,
reported last year: “When Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi walked away from a U.S.
detention camp in 2009, the future leader of ISIS issued some chilling
final words to reservists from Long Island.
“The
Islamist extremist some are now calling the most dangerous man in the
world had a few parting words to his captors as he was released from the
biggest U.S. detention camp in Iraq in 2009.
“He said, ‘I’ll see you guys in New York,’” recalls Army Col. Kenneth King, then the commanding officer of Camp Bucca.
Terence P. Jeffrey @cnsnews.com
on June 14th, 2014 followed up with: “Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the leader
of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), issued a rare audio
message back on January 21 in which he flatly stated his group’s
intention to march on Baghdad and move into “direct confrontation” with
the United States.
“Our
last message is to the Americans. Soon we will be in direct
confrontation, and the sons of Islam have prepared for such a day,”
Baghdadi said. “So watch, for we are with you, watching.”
Yet,
on the other hand, some people either don’t seem to grasp the magnitude
of the threats that have been issued, are too arrogant to accept
reality, or simply remain street–corner community organizers, capability-wise.
For
example, this story reported by Reuters on November 6th: “The Obama
administration is moving to increase and accelerate the number of Syrian
refugees who might be admitted into the United States by opening new
screening outposts in Iraq and Lebanon. All because, “President Barack
Obama pledged in September to admit an additional 10,000 Syrian refugees
in 2016, torn by four years of civil war and disorder.”
That’s followed up by an article yesterday @theblaze.com,
as reported by the Associated Press that says: “Five men who have been
held for more than 13 years at the U.S. base at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba,
have been released and sent to the United Arab Emirates, the Pentagon
said Sunday.
“None
of the men had been charged with a crime but had been detained as enemy
combatants. They could not be sent to their homeland because the U.S.
considers Yemen too unstable to accept prisoners from Guantanamo. These
are the first prisoners accepted by the UAE for resettlement.”
Thus,
one has to truly wonder what it would take to get the POTUS to stop
campaigning and pandering to his political base, and actually try to
perform the job he was elected for. To preserve and protect the citizens
of the United Sates of America.
PS: Here’s a link to an article well worth reading on the same subject: http://www.express.co.uk/news/world/555434/Islamic-State-ISIS-Smuggler-THOUSANDS-Extremists-into-Europe-Refugees
On another issue, Lisa Rein @washingtonpost.com,
reported about recent actions by Lamar Smith (R-Tex.,) Chairman of the
House science committee. “The longtime skeptic of climate change touched
off a furor in the climate world in October when he accused NOAA of
altering the data in its study to “get the results they needed” to
advance President Obama’s climate change policies. Smith has rejected
mainstream scientific views about climate change and said the Obama
administration undermined the U.S. economy with policies that sought to
reduce greenhouse gas emissions.”
To
date he’s gotten no real cooperation from the National Oceanic and
Atmospheric Administration (NOAA,) forcing him to issue subpoenas from
them demanding e-mails, correspondence and other records of internal
deliberations from the scientists who participated in the study and
other officials at the top of the agency.
“Meanwhile,
the American Meteorological Society and other scientific groups went
public with their concerns, telling Smith that his subpoena set a
dangerous precedent for interference with independent scientific
research.”
What’s
most interesting here is that those refusing cooperation are actually
confirming Chairman Smith’s suspicions by their actions. Because if the
information they’re hiding about the global-warming fiction were
factual, they’d be more than pleased to produce it everywhere they
could. Wouldn’t they?
Which brings us to today’s update on Bill Clinton’s wife.
But,
before beginning reading the update, close your eyes and picture this
worn out old hag reviewing the troops, or becoming their commander in
chief. Maybe she’ll suit up like Bush senior and parachute with them,
slinging an assault weapon. Perhaps she could float down alongside
Trump, both letting their hair flow behind them.
As
far as reality goes, though, a “new RallyPoint/Rasmussen Reports
national survey of active and retired military personnel finds that only
15% have a favorable opinion of Clinton, with just three percent (3%)
who view the former secretary of State Very Favorably. Clinton is seen
unfavorably by 81%, including 69% who share a Very Unfavorable
impression of her.”
As
far as all voters go, 47% of all Likely Voters viewed Clinton favorably
back in April, while just as many (47%) viewed her unfavorably.
Which
means that, as things stand now it looks like she’s only favorable
to about half of her own party, approximating 40% of the electorate. Thus,
for the remaining 60% of voters, primarily Republicans and Independents,
it’s likely not many will choose her at all. Leading to the continuing
question: Joe Biden, Mayor Bloomberg, Jerry Brown, and Starbuck’s
chairman and CEO, Howard Schultz, are you reading this?
That’s it for today folks.
Adios
