Pat Buchanan’s column today @wnd.com, offers a recapitulation of how liberalism, and especially the POTUS, have opened the door to terrorist emergence in the western world. Mr. Buchanan's conclusion illustrates, that by instituting irrational ideology and reinforcing it, the public backlash may close down open immigration entirely. Precisely the opposite of what the POTUS intended. 

Mr. Buchanan concluded his column this way: “With Syrian passports missing, with ISIS besieged in its Syria-Iraq laager and urging suicide attacks in New York and Washington, we may be witness to more terrorist massacres and murders in the States. 

“The time may be at hand for a moratorium on all immigration and a rewriting of the immigration laws to reflect the views and values of Middle Americans, rather than those of a morally arrogant multicultural elite. 

“Obamaworld is gone. We live again in an us-versus-them country in an us-versus-them world. And we shall likely never know another.” 

Thus, by working against the tide of public opinion, while attempting to permit unlimited access and uncontrollable entry into the nation by foreigners, the POTUS has not only reached a stumbling block, he has achieved the precise opposite. Likely shutting immigration off completely for everybody in the future. 

At the same time, according to Zachary Tracer @bloomberg.com yesterday: “The biggest U.S. health insurer is considering pulling out of Obamacare as it loses hundreds of millions of dollars on the program, casting a pall over President Barack Obama’s signature domestic policy achievement. 

“UnitedHealth Group Inc. has scaled back marketing efforts for plans sold to individuals this year and may quit the business entirely in 2017. It’s an abrupt shift from October, when the health insurer said it was planning to sell coverage through the Affordable Care Act in 11 more states next year, bringing its total to 34. The company also cut its 2015 earnings forecast.” 

And then for strike three this morning, Ambrose Evans-Pritchard @telegraph.co.uk/finance, reports that: “The world is running out of storage facilities for surging supplies of oil and may soon exhaust tanker space offshore, raising the chances of a violent plunge in crude prices over coming weeks, experts have warned. 

“Goldman Sachs told clients that the increasing glut of oil on the global market has combined with mild weather from a freak El Nino this winter. The twin-effect could send prices plummeting to $20 a barrel.” 

“Oil has fallen from $110 a barrel early last year and is hovering near $40 for US crude, and $44 for Brent in Europe.” 

In this case, the POTUS took on an aspect of the free market that he, and those around him, are unable to comprehend. By politicizing fossil fuels and employing the EPA, among other weapons, to curtail oil production he ignored the fact that there is no viable alternative for people to affordably transport themselves. 

Therefore, all those automobiles and commercial vehicles had to keep running, which opened the door for new oil production methods, primarily fracking. The introduction of new competition forced traditional suppliers, such as Saudi Arabia, to drive prices down to the extent that oil dipped below $40.00 a barrel this very morning.

On January 25, 2008, when the POTUS began his dedicated battle against oil, the barrel cost was $90.71. So, effectively he’s made fossil fuel cost less than half the price it was when he took office. To the extent that the market's glutted and will be for quite a long time to come. Another case where practical reality outweighed theoretical nonsense and irrational political ideology. 

Which brings us to today’s update on Bill Clinton’s wife, another Democrat without an iota of understanding of how the world really works. 

In a speech this week, one of Bill’s wife’s aides offered no detail on how she would go about dealing with ISIS, other than to name her ”overarching objectives.” The aide went on to explain that, “she aims to defeat ISIS in Syria, Iraq and across the region; to ‘disrupt and dismantle the growing terrorist infrastructure’ that facilitates the flow of fighters, money, arms and propaganda; and harden defenses in the U.S. and allied countries against both external and homegrown threats.” 

Thus, this plan is from a woman who yesterday “condemned Republican efforts to halt the [immigrant] influx.” She tweeted: “We’ve seen a lot of hateful rhetoric from the GOP. But the idea that we’d turn away refugees because of religion is a new low.” 

So, it looks like her plan is to not even wait until they attempt to come here to immigrate. Instead she’ll simply blow them to bits over there. 

On another issue, something else to consider. Charles Ortel @ charlesortel.com writes: “Between 29 September 2009 and 15 March 2010, Clinton Foundation trustees together with certain outside experts submitted a false and materially misleading application to the IRS (whose Tax Exempt Organization Department was then headed by Lois Lerner) and obtained, improperly, a determination letter authorizing New CHAI to operate as a public charity.

And lastly, Michael Goodwin @nypost.com, writes that: “Hillary Clinton’s speech Thursday was billed as her plan to combat the Islamic State. In truth, her plan was to combat the idea that she is another Barack Obama. 

“Clinton can run from Obama, but can’t hide from the unholy mess he — and she — made. 

“As his first secretary of state, she was part of the team that botched the wars in Iraq and Syria and helped birth the Islamic terrorism now rattling the world. The slaughter in Paris and fresh threats against America make it urgent that she erase her fingerprints from the calamity. That’s impossible, so she settled for putting some daylight between herself and Obama.

“She’s the one who bragged in 2008 that she was ready to answer the 3 a.m. phone call. But when the call came from Benghazi, she was nowhere to be found, and forever damaged herself by insisting in public, and to the families of the four Americans who died, that an anti-Muslim video was to blame. 

“Yet we know now, thanks to the congressional hearing, that she was saying in private that it was a planned terrorist attack."

Mr. Goodwin concludes by stating, “That’s the real Hillary — the one who will say whatever is best for her at the moment. In that, and in that only, we can trust.” 

Thus, what today’s segments clearly illustrate is that these two, Bill’s wife and the POTUS, are directly responsible for significant problems in virtually every aspect of governance, here and abroad. To the extent that, as far as the majority of the voting public is concerned, after what’s been done to their party, it may be too late for even Joe Biden, Mayor Bloomberg, Jerry Brown, or Starbuck’s chairman and CEO, Howard Schultz to rescue.
