BloggeRhythms

Watching Schumer scramble around, running into walls as he desperately tries to patch and glue what’s left of his party together, the thought occurred as to how differently the two major political wings operate overall.

Republicans, and certainly Conservative leaderships, tend to create guidelines and rules that increase employment, grow the economy, boost jobs, and protect US trade interests,  maximizing economic opportunity. A major objective has always been keeping government out of the way, letting individuals run their own lives as much as possible.

In fact, Trump as president, “signed an executive order instructing agencies to identify two regulations to repeal for every new regulation and to ensure that the total incremental cost of all new regulations is no greater than zero. “

Democrats on the other hand, and certainly the far left uses government to advance its own interests, increasing directives where and whenever possible in every conceivable manner.

In Biden’s case, he’s called climate change an existential threat, saying he’ll rally the rest of the world to act more quickly on curbing emissions, immediately rejoining the Paris Climate Accord. Trump withdrew from that agreement that commits the US to cut greenhouse gases up to 28% by 2025, based on 2005 levels. Primarily because of little to no support from major polluters elsewhere.

Other Biden objectives include: “Raising the minimum wage, green energy investment, creating business support for minorities, policies to reduce incarceration, addressing race, gender and income-based disparities in the justice system, and rehabilitating released prisoners, federal investment in green technologies research and creating jobs in manufacturing "green energy" products.”

Another major Biden goal is expanding Obamacare, passed when he was Obama's deputy VP and now planning to insure an estimated 97% of Americans.

During his first 100 days in office, Biden reversed Trump policies separating parents from children at the Mexican border, rescinded limits on the number of applications for asylum and ended the bans on travel from several majority-Muslim countries. He also promised to protect the "Dreamers" - people brought illegally to the US as children who were permitted to stay under an Obama-era policy - as well as ensure they are eligible for federal student aid.

Add to that, student loan debt forgiveness, expansion of tuition-free colleges, and universal preschool access that would be paid using money gained back from withdrawing the Trump-era tax cuts.

So, what can be clearly seen here is application of the two completely different philosophies of governance, one fully supporting if not advocating for the strongest possible economic growth possible, the other capturing and redistributing as much from the population as possible.

Reviewing the two extremes brought to mind complete opposites in government as differentiated years ago by Bill Cosby in a classic bit called “Toss of the Coin.” Herein, a coin toss could’ve determined who got the advantage during events in history, a referee ruling like this:

“General Cornwallis of the British, this is General Washington of the Continental Army.”

“General Washington of the Continental Army, this is General Cornwallis of the British.”

“If you’d shake hands, gentlemen.”

“O.K., British call the toss.”

“British called heads, it is tails.”

“General Washington, what are you gonna do?”

“General Washington says his troops will dress however they wish, in any color, in buckskins and coonskin caps, and hide behind the rocks and trees and shoot out at random.”

“British, you will all wear bright red, all shoot at the same time, and march forward in a straight line.”

While the above contradictions are extreme, they certainly existed as do the utmost objectives in today’s political party goals. Bringing us back to Schumer, who has no idea whatsoever on how to grow the nation economically, boost jobs, or protect US trade interests. His only aim being to employ legislation to capture as much as possible from what’s already there in order to redistribute whatever possible to his own constituents.

Oddly enough, the nation originated through General Washington’s troops doing whatever possible to freely defend themselves versus a disciplined military remaining within a specific regimen. And now that the most successful nation on Earth has been built, Schumer’s back in the bushes and trees with the exception that he has no ideas other than stretching laws to support obsolete weapons with no ammunition.

That’s it for today folks.

Adios
