While there’s not very much new in the news, diplomats say that a nuclear deal with Iran is close enough that it might even close today. If not, the signing should take place sometime tomorrow.

Reading about the agreement’s status on yahoo.com, however, in an article by Parisa Hafezi and Arshad Mohammed, it’s reported that, “Among the biggest sticking points this week has been Iran's insistence that a United Nations Security Council arms embargo and ban on its ballistic missile program dating from 2006 be lifted immediately if an agreement is reached.”

Therefore, the “sticking points” are the very same issues that western nations wished to curtail in the first place, suggesting that satisfactory progress remains at zero.

Russia, which sells weapons to Iran, has naturally supported Tehran publicly on the issue, while “a senior Western diplomat said earlier in the week the six powers remained united, despite Moscow's and Beijing's well-known dislike of the embargos.”

All of which confirms the premise that the best thing that could happen at this point, is that Congress review whatever final agreement is reached with Iran. And then veto’s the “deal” to be followed by an increase in sanctions, the only kind of pressure Iran understands.

Which quickly brings us to today’s update on Bill Clinton’s wife, and includes Bill himself.

Kellan Howell writes on washingtontimes.com: “Hillary Clinton and her husband, former President Bill Clinton, have been ordered to give depositions in a civil case investigating the pair’s growing email scandal." She’ll give her deposition on the morning of July 28 in Washington, and Bill will give his the following morning,

“The case, filed by Freedom Watch founder and former federal prosecutor Larry Klayman, alleges the couple committed criminal violations under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO)."

According to a statement from Freedom Watch, the suit alleges Bill’s wife covered up these crimes by destroying her personal emails sent during her time as Secretary of State.

Mr. Klayman said in a statement, “This is the first and only hard-hitting case to address the growing email scandal. What Hillary Clinton, her husband, and their foundation have done is nothing new. It is simply part of a criminal enterprise which dates back at least 10 years, all designed to enrich themselves personally at the expense of the American people and our nation. It’s time, however, that they finally be held legally accountable.”

Mr. Klayman’s point is not only well taken, but confirms what’s been written right here quite often over the past few years. The only difference is that this writer hasn’t instituted suit yet, and most likely won’t, due to lack of legal expertise and resources.

On another issue, this one regarding her presidential campaign, Bill’s wife, according to FoxNews.com, “declined in a CNN interview earlier this week to say whether she would raise taxes on big corporations or the country’s highest wage-earners, as primary challenger Sen. Bernie Sanders has proposed.

“I think we have to grow the economy faster and fairer,” she said. “So we have to do what will actually work in the short term, the medium term and the long term. … then, I’ll look forward to the debate.”

Fox notes that, “While top-tier Republican candidate and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush has called for an annual growth rate of 4 percent, Clinton will assert that the nation's economy should not be judged by a specific growth figure but rather by how much income increases for middle-class households.

"For a typical working American, their income has not been rising anywhere near as fast as it should be rising, and that is the challenge we face," said David Kamin, a New York University law professor who has advised Clinton's campaign. "It's not a new problem, and it's going to take a holistic vision."

As a practical mater, however, Bill’s wife has proven time and again that she knows virtually nothing about about how the US economy, or any other successful one, truly functions.

By her own words, in her approach to the economy, “more Americans would share in the prosperity and avoid the boom-and-bust cycles of Wall Street that have led to economic turbulence of the past decade.”

The fact of the matter is, though, income equalization’s often been tried elsewhere in the world. It’s called “communism” and it has consistently failed. Even in modern day Russia. In fact, it’s also the reason the first settlers came here, to avoid excess taxation and retain what they earned for themselves. Those wishing to prosper, sought ways to do so and flourished. While those unwilling to put in the effort failed or fell by the economic wayside. The result became, the most successful economy that ever existed, still able to support virtually all.

Furthermore, her own husband headed 8 years of US economic prosperity primarily because he left Alan Greenspan, a Republican, as head of the Federal Reserve bank.

Chairman Greenspan believed the exact opposite of Bill’s wife’s naïve and uneducated economic theorizing, primarily because he knew it couldn’t possibly work successfully.

His stance stemmed from his firm belief in laissez faire capitalism and he asserted that, in a democratic society, there could be no better alternative. According to quotes from Wikipedia, “He stated that the errors that were made stemmed not from the principle, but from the application of competitive markets in "assuming what the nature of risks would be."

Lastly, and most important, is the definition of laissez faire  which is an “Economic system in which transactions between private parties are free from government interference such as regulations, privileges, tariffs, and subsidies. The phrase laissez-faire is part of a larger French piece and literally translates to "let (it/them) do", but in this context usually means "let it be."

So, once again, if Bill’s wife true goal is to insure that US citizens have the greatest opportunity to succeed economically and for the nation as a whole to prosper, the best thing she should do for them is to resign her presidential campaign and let a Republican lead the way to prosperity. Just like her husband did before he was impeached.

Mayor Bloomberg, and Joe Biden, are you reading this?

That’s it for today folks.

Adios
