Fox News reports: “The federal government is increasing security measures at some international airports with direct flights to the United States, based on recent intelligence about the continuing, worldwide terror threat.”

Furthermore,  although Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson gave no information about a specific threat, saying only that the change was based on the U.S. and its allies ‘continually (assessing) the global threat environment, the “beefed up security is almost certainly a response to recent intelligence reports suggesting that Al Qaeda-linked terrorists in Syria are working with members of Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula to blow up a commercial aircraft headed to the U.S. or Europe.”

Therefore, what’s absolutely incredible is that while the incumbent claims concern regarding the hordes flooding here via Mexico, he’s still permitting any and all who are able to enter the country illegally to do so 24-7-365. Which means there's no control over terrorists wishing to try sneaking in here that way too.

Then, for the latest news on his health care tax, all you need is the headline from today’s New York Post: NEW YORK TO SEE DOUBLE DIGIT OBAMACARE PREMIUM HIKES. That says it all.

Today, Chris Stirewalt included this debate repartee in his column in Fox News.com: “As far as Republican campaign techniques for next November’s congressional elections are concerned, Senator Lamar Alexander, Republican from Tennessee, has the right idea. He’s running an ad with a clip made during the White House Healthcare Summit in Feb. 2010 in which Obama says to Alexander, “When you said, ‘premiums go up,’ that’s just not the case.” Then, when Alexander replies, “The Congressional Budget Office report says that premiums will rise,” Obama cuts him off, saying, “No, no, no, no, and this is an example of where we’ve got to get our facts straight.” To which, Alexander quips, “That’s my point.”

And finally, todays’ item regarding Bill Clinton’s wife.

According to the Washington Post, “At least eight universities, including four public institutions, have paid hundreds of thousands of dollars for Hillary Rodham Clinton to speak on their campuses over the past year, sparking a backlash from some student groups and teachers at a time of austerity in higher education. In one previously undisclosed transaction, the University of Connecticut — which just raised tuition by 6.5 percent — paid $251,250 from a donor fund for Clinton to speak on campus in April. Other examples include $300,000 to speak at the University of California at Los Angeles in March and $225,000 for a speech scheduled for October at the University of Nevada at Las Vegas. The potential 2016 Democratic presidential candidate also has been paid for speeches at the University at Buffalo, Colgate University and Hamilton College in New York, as well as Simmons College in Boston and the University of Miami in Florida. Officials at those five schools refused to say what they paid Clinton. But if she earned her standard fee of $200,000 or more, that would mean she took in at least $1.8 million in speaking income from universities in the past nine months.”

However, it looks like it’s a good thing for her that she’s able to fleece these schools for as much as she does with her exorbitant fees because her new book seems to be going right down the proverbial chute.

Philip Bump of the Washington Post reports that the book’s sold about 160,000 copies in hard cover, total. He then equates that amount to one book for every 411 Obama voters in the 2012 general election, fewer copies than there were Obama voters in every state besides the Dakotas, Alaska and Wyoming.

So, although she hasn’t even formally announced her intention to run for president in 2016, if she had to take on the incumbent again, the odds are he’d roll right over her like he did last time, leaving her in the dust once more. And, if book sales are any indication of what the voting pubic really thinks, except for her hard core supporters and leftist university administrators, nobody cares a whit about anything she writes or says at all.

That’s it for today folks.

Adios
