BloggeRhythms

While each day makes it more obvious that the Democrat party hasn’t a viable platform or anything of substance to promote on their own behalf, they’ve also run up against a competitor the likes of which they’ve never seen before. And the more they attempt to destroy him and his team, the bigger fools they make of themselves.

Making things worse for the leftist effort, is that the voting public’s positive view of their rival keeps growing no matter what kind of mud they throw at him. According to the Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Friday, “53% of Likely U.S. Voters approve of President Trump’s job performance. Forty-seven percent (47%) disapprove.”

“This rolling three-day survey now includes two nights following the president’s nationally televised speech to a joint session of Congress and shows a three-point improvement in his overall approval rating since then.”

Aside from the POTUS’s rising popularity, it seems that the opposition didn’t really think through its decision to claim that cabinet members, such as Attorney General, improperly met twice with a Russian ambassador. That's because, not only were the meetings held in the course of normal relationships, more and more key Democrats have done exactly the same thing themselves.

Furthermore, what probably wasn’t expected when the Democrats decided to pursue the issue was the reaction received from the new president. Particularly because most Republicans in the past have simply taken a practical approach to accusations, refuting claims while rarely battling back with vengeance. But today, that game has changed.

According to breitbart.com yesterday morning: “After tweeting on Friday morning that Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) should be investigated for meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in 2003, President Donald Trump tweeted that a second investigation into Pelosi’s past should be launched.

“The tweet said: “I hereby demand a second investigation, after Schumer, of Pelosi for her close ties to Russia, and lying about it.”

The POTUS’s tweet put Pelosi on the defensive, causing her to reply that “she’s never met with the current Russian ambassador, Sergey Kislyak.”

“Not with this Russian ambassador, no," Pelosi told POLITICO's Jake Sherman and Anna Palmer during a Playbook interview, when asked whether she had ever met with the Russian envoy.

“But a file photo from Pelosi's 2010 meeting with Russian President Dmitriy Medvedev shows Kislyak at the table across from Pelosi — then House speaker — and Rep. Steny Hoyer (D-Md.). Medvedev had been in the country for a meeting with President Barack Obama a day earlier and stopped in on Capitol Hill to meet with congressional leaders as well.

“Asked to square Pelosi's comments with the photo of the meeting, a spokesman said Pelosi simply meant she never had a solo meeting with Kislyak.

"Of course, that's what she meant," said the spokesman, Drew Hammill. "She has never had a private one-on-one with him."

So, here we have the POTUS’s counter-attack forcing a Pelosi subordinate to mince words in order to protect his boss. Which means that Republican's too, such as the attorney general, now have an opportunity to make precisely the same claims regarding what, when, how and why meetings were held and what was said.

But if that isn’t enough, the POTUS went on to score some points against his predecessor in a similar manner.

Brittany Vonow and Mark Hodge write @thesun.co.uk/news: “In an astonishing series of early morning tweets, the firebrand President claimed his predecessor had bugged his phones during the “very sacred election process”, slamming the allegations as a “Nixon/Watergate” scandal.

A Trump tweet at 5:30am called the claims a “new low” before appearing to call Obama a “bad (or sick) guy” writing “How low has President Obama gone to tap my phones during the very sacred election process. This is Nixon/Watergate. Bad (or sick) guy!”

He also tweeted: “Terrible! Just found out that Obama had my “wires tapped” in Trump Tower just before the victory. Nothing found. This is McCarthyism!”

Then he later added: “Is it legal for a sitting President to be “wire tapping” a race for president prior to an election? Turned down by court earlier. A NEW LOW!”

Thus, the box the left now finds itself in presents a whole new ball game for them. Because, they’re not only guilty themselves of what they accuse their rivals, they’re not very good at preparing for counterattacks either. And at present, they’re not only up against someone who isn’t just going to roll over and acquiesce to attacks, he’s going to fight back. Particularly because he truly loves the battle and fully intends to win it.

At the same time, another chink appeared in the Democrat overall armor as a leftist ally in the MSM appeals for a temporary truce with the POTUS in order to help Californians.

Yesterday Rush said on his program: “Here’s a little funny story. This is the Los Angeles Times. (laughing) I’m not kidding. The Los Angeles Times is upset at the Democrats. They want the Democrats to stop resisting Trump, at least for a little while, so that Trump can pass his infrastructure bill, ’cause LA needs the money. Not kidding, ladies and gentlemen.

“The Los Angeles Times, they hate Trump like the New York Times does. They say: “Two things ought to come to mind in California when President Trump says he plans to spend $1 trillion on infrastructure. And no, they’re not ‘Oroville’ and ‘San Jose,’ although those are good clues. The first is that if the federal government is going to prioritize vast new infrastructure spending, California’s water projects should be near the top of the list. Bring it on.”

“So LA, as represented by the LA Times, wants the Democrats in Washington to stand down for just long enough for Trump to get his infrastructure bill so they can get their pork. This is funny. So there’s a little bit of a split. You know, LA’s way out there in the Left Coast, and the New York Times really doesn’t care about the LA Times; they really don’t.”

So, here we have realism once again entering the picture when it comes to the practical necessities of running the country. Because when a leftist media stalwart admits that their own congressional representatives are unable to perform in the best manner regarding their states true needs, the situation is truly pitiful.

And making things far better for the POTUS in the long run, is that this is one of the best endorsements of his expertise and capability possible to accomplish considering its source.

That’s it for today folks.

Adios
