BloggeRhythms

Yesterday, ABC News suspended Whoopi Goldberg for two weeks after she drew criticism for falsely declaring that the Holocaust was not about race but man’s inhumanity to humans.

She’s since apologized for the remark, which has sparked backlash throughout media outlets of all types with opinion and commentary, predominately negative, deriving from countless others. And it’s the explosive aftermath of Goldberg’s declaration that stimulated thoughts for today’s post. Because the subject causing Goldberg’s suspension may be a false declaration about the Holocaust, but where did the forum come from to make the statement in the first place? The answer to that one blows significant holes in the perpetuated causes of groups such as Black Lives Matter and Antifa.

Goldberg’s birth name is Caryn Elaine Johnson whose profile is described in Wikipedia as American actor, comedian, author, and television personality. A recipient of numerous accolades, she is one of 16 entertainers to win an Emmy Award, a Grammy Award, an Academy Award, and a Tony Award.

She joined “The View” in 2007 as a replacement for Rosie O'Donnell. Her debut reportedly drew 3.4 million viewers and saw a 7% increase in viewership from the previous season. Through June 27, 2020 the show led in daytime among total viewers and households with 2.79 million viewers

ibtimes.com, reports that Goldberg is also an entrepreneur. “She co-founded Whoopi & Maya, a company that makes medical cannabis products for women needing relief from menstrual cramps.”

She earns $8 million annually for hosting the show, according to Celebrity Net Worth, with a net worth of $60 million.

So, here we have a black female who built a career as an individual in the entertainment industry, rising to a position where almost three million viewers are exposed to her thoughts and opinions five days a week. For that she earns $8 million a year which would have continued uninterrupted until she no longer chose to do it, had she not caused this temporary pause for remarks of her own doing. Which brings us to the case of Black Lives Matter and Antifa.

Because where in the world  but the United States of America could the Goldberg scenario have taken place? Where else does the opportunity for anyone of any color, race, religion or nationality of origin exist to make whatever wants of oneself uninterrupted (provided they do the work?) The answer to those rhetorical questions is: Absolutely nowhere.

Thus, who is truly responsible for unsatisfied wants and needs of any individual? And why are those who don’t work entitled to granting’s from anyone when opportunities for self-satisfaction exist everywhere in the U.S. to those who seek them? And it’s the Whoopi Goldberg’s among us that expose the colossal flaws in the arguments of Black Lives Matter and Antifa, whereas America truly is the “Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave!”

While this posting was being put together, two other individuals were quickly looked up. According to Celebrity Net Worth, "Jesse Jackson is an American civil rights activist and Baptist minister who has a net worth of $9 million. Jackson is a prominent civil rights activist, United States shadow Senator, and the creator of the civil rights organization Rainbow/PUSH”.

Similarly, networthbro.com revealed that “[Al]Sharpton and his numerous businesses owed a combined $4.7 million in back taxes to the IRS, and New York state. However, per reports in 2015 Sharpton has paid almost $2 million of his debts. His net worth is estimated at somewhere between $500,000 and $5 million.”

While the information on Jackson and Sharpton is somewhat stale, it still looks like a lot of bucks for downtrodden, mistreated people.

That’s it for today folks.

Adios
