Today’s first item illustrates either total vapidity or a direct effort to
mislead the public by the Clinton presidential campaign.
According to Jose A. DelReal and Robert Costa @washingtonpost.com:
“Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is reviving some of the ugliest
political chapters of the 1990s with escalating personal attacks on Bill
Clinton’s character, part of a concerted effort to smother Hillary Clinton’s
campaign message with the weight of decades of controversy.
“Trump’s latest shot came Monday when he released an incendiary Instagram
video that includes the voices of two women who accused the former president of
sexual assault, underscoring the presumptive Republican nominee’s willingness to
go far beyond political norms in his critique of his likely Democratic rival.
“The real estate mogul has said in recent interviews that a range of
Clinton-related controversies will be at the center of his case against Hillary
Clinton.
“They said things about me which were very nasty. And I don’t want to play
that game at all. I don’t want to play it — at all. But they said things about
me that were very nasty,” Trump told The Washington Post in an interview. “And,
you know, as long as they do that, you know, I will play at whatever level I
have to play at. I think I’ve proven that.”
In response: “Clinton campaign spokesman Brian Fallon said Monday on
Bloomberg TV that Trump’s attacks were part of a “strategy to try to distract
from an issues-based campaign, which is what we intend to run. . . . To me,
every day he spends in this type of stuff is a misspent opportunity by him in
terms of doing the outreach he needs to do to improve his numbers.”
And now we’ve reached the heart of this morning’s opening subject. Because
while Clinton spokesman Fallon, tries to downplay Trump’s effectiveness by
suggesting “every day he spends in this type of stuff is a misspent opportunity
by him in terms of doing the outreach he needs to do to improve his
numbers,” those very same numbers indicate that Trump has already caught and
passed her.
Real Clear Politics reported yesterday: “Donald Trump has passed
Hillary Clinton in a weekly average of head-to-head polls for the first time,
albeit by a minuscule margin.
“On the strength of two polls released Sunday, the presumptive Republican
nominee holds an advantage of 43.4 percent to 43.2 percent in the Real Clear
Politics average. Trump edged Clinton 46 percent to 44 percent in an ABC
News/Washington Post survey, while Clinton led Trump 46 percent to 43 percent in
an NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll despite having led by double digits up
until that point. A Fox News poll released last Wednesday showed Trump leading
45 percent to 42 percent, while a CBS News/New York Times poll represents the
only recent survey in which Clinton led Trump, 47 percent to 41 percent.”
So, campaign spokesman Fallon can postulate all he wants to about what he
believes the Trump campaign should do regarding strategy. However, reality
indicates that voters apparently feel he’s on the right track.
Nonetheless, though, if Trump were to actually take Fallon’s advice and “[do]
the outreach he needs to do to improve his numbers,” Fallon’s candidate wouldn’t
have a prayer in the world of being elected.
On another recurring subject, the global-warming farce, Jason Samenow
@washingtonpost.com headed his column this morning: “D.C.’s worst May ever,
explained.” Which he then proceeds to do.
“So far this May, D.C. has had a record number of rainy days (19 of 23) and
the coolest high temperatures since 1882. This May’s afternoon highs are running
an incredible 15 degrees cooler than last May’s. And we still haven’t hit 80
degrees.
“The Southeast Regional Climate Center says D.C.’s recent temperatures most
resemble San Francisco’s.
“Why has D.C.’s weather been so awful this month?
“There’s a very simple explanation. The storm track has been stuck over the
Mid-Atlantic, continuously cycling weather system after weather system through
the region — like a conveyor belt.”
Reader Mike Austin wrote: “And idiot Al claimed all of the north
pole ice would be gone by now, so "poo poo" that.
walter-in-fallschurch responded to Mike Austin: “can you
please show me where he said that?
And then, ColoradoWellington slammed the door on
walter-in-fallschurch by specifically answering his question, as
follows:
“Walter asks: “can you please show me where [Al Gore] said that?”
Colorado Wellington answers: “December 14, 2009”
“New computer modeling suggests the Arctic Ocean may be nearly ice-free in
summer as early as 2014, Al Gore said today at the U.N. climate conference in
Copenhagen.”
“I’m happy I could help out but I am not sure it will make Walter happy. He’s
stuck with portly Al and the rest of the nitwits.”
Which goes to underline how often people like walter-in-fallschurch,
blindly follow high-profile, self-appointed authorities like Gore for no valid reason
whatsoever. And then seem shocked, confused or upset when truth’s finally
surface. Which certainly confirms PT Barnum’s belief about the birth of a sucker
every minute.
And then, Joseph Jankowski of Planet Free Will.com, writes about a
truly remarkable example of heavy-handed liberal autocratism in his article
titled: “Portland School Board Bans Literature Denying Climate Change,” as
follows:
“There will be no more discussion as to whether or not humans are
contributing to climate change in the Portland, Oregon public school system, as
the school board plans to ban all material that denies the existence of man-made
climate change.
“Although the topic is still being heavily debated within the scientific
community, young and impressionable students will now only receive the
politically correct side of the issue.
‘Man is causing climate change, no questions asked.’
While the Oregon public school board may actually believe that their
man-caused climate change conclusions are beyond dispute, a report from 2010
illustrates that even then, involved scientists had a quite different opinion,
as published @globalresearch.ca
“More than 1,000 dissenting scientists (updates previous 700 scientist
report) from around the globe have now challenged man-made global warming claims
made by the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and
former Vice President Al Gore. This new 2010 321-page Climate Depot Special
Report — updated from the 2007 groundbreaking U.S. Senate Report of over 400
scientists who voiced skepticism about the so-called global warming “consensus”
— features the skeptical voices of over 1,000 international scientists,
including many current and former UN IPCC scientists, who have now turned
against the UN IPCC. This updated 2010 report includes a dramatic increase of
over 300 additional (and growing) scientists and climate researchers since the
last update in March 2009. This report’s release coincides with the 2010 UN
global warming summit in being held in Cancun.
“The more than 300 additional scientists added to this report since March
2009 (21 months ago), represents an average of nearly four skeptical scientists
a week speaking out publicly. The well over 1,000 dissenting scientists are
almost 20 times the number of UN scientists (52) who authored the media-hyped
IPCC 2007 Summary for Policymakers.”
And then, a friend sent this one:
Bringing us to today’s update on Bill Clinton’s wife.
While the Clinton campaign questions the effectiveness of Trump’s efforts to
“distract from an issues-based campaign,” they themselves, and their associates
seem to be doing the very same thing. As evidenced by their own actions.
According to Pete Williams @nbcnews.com, yesterday: “The FBI is
investigating whether Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe's 2013 campaign accepted
illegal contributions, law enforcement officials confirmed to NBC News.
“Federal officials say for the past several months, the FBI has been looking
at whether McAuliffe's 2013 campaign for governor of Virginia accepted political
contributions that were forbidden by federal law.
“McAuliffe is a one-time board member of the Clinton Global Initiative, the
foundation set up by former President Bill Clinton and likely Democratic
presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.
“The former chairman of the Democratic National Committee from 2000 to 2005,
McAuliffe was also a co-chairman of Hillary Clinton's 2008 presidential
campaign.
“Records show more than 100 donors contributed to both the foundation and
McAuliffe's campaign.
“Federal officials say investigators are looking at those overlaps and are
especially interested in contributions from Wang Wenliang, a Chinese politician.
The investigation was first reported by CNN.
While the story itself is not surprising, whereas McAuliffe’s behavior is
typical of the Clinton’s and those that surround them, the publisher of the
article is, NBC News.
Since this type of item isn’t usually reported so definitively by the
main-stream media, it may be an indication of a turning tide toward honesty on
their behalf. Which not only would be a very bad sign for Bill Clinton’s wife, but also
raises the ongoing question once again: Joe Biden, Mayor Bloomberg, Jerry Brown,
and Starbuck’s chairman and CEO, Howard Schultz, are you guys reading this?
That’s it for today folks.
Adios
