Maintaining its unblemished record of major misjudgments, the administration
has outdone itself once again. This time, causing a global stock-market
collapse.
At the root of it all, is leftists continual pursuit of dogma and
philosophical belief, instead of applying plain old business logic and
understanding traditional marketplace tendencies.
In today’s case, by applying all in his power to curtail the drilling for
oil, the POTUS forced development of new, advanced, technologies. Particularly
fracking. Ultimately leading to new, huge resources and supplies, causing lower
oil prices overall.
At the same time, Russia, Syria and Venezuela, along with several other oil
producing nations and ISIS, increased output in attempts to fund their hostile
activities. Those actions began to worry other major suppliers, primarily Saudi
Arabia who defied OPEC price concerns and began increasing production, in an
attempt to make oil sales unprofitable for those newcomers encroaching on their
markets.
Added to that, is the looming entry of a new player, Iran. Resulting in the
lowest prices since May 2003, 13 years ago, with no bottom in sight as yet.
Thus, by targeting oil, the POTUS has not only caused a free-fall in prices, but
has also stimulated an international sell-off of securities. Driving the Dow
Jones industrial average down 500 points during midday trading Wednesday, and
likely leading to a major recession in the offing.
Although the POTUS has made it quite clear that foreign policy, or the unrest
throughout the Middle-East isn’t one of his major interests, global-warming
certainly is. Which is why the following item from
myfoxdc@foxtv.com, is particularly amusing, as follows:
“Not even President Obama was immune to the messy commute that hit D.C.
roadways after Wednesday night’s snow.
“The president's motorcade left Joint Base Andrews Wednesday night and got
stuck in traffic.
“They finally made it to the White House more than an hour later.
"The trip usually takes about 25 minutes.”
From the next paragraph, one would have to assume that most of those caught
in the snowfall were federal employees. According to the article: “Wednesday’s
snowfall -- which officially was recorded at under an inch at area airports --
left some drivers around the D.C. area stuck in traffic for hours. Some
commuters were still on the road Thursday morning -- not even making it home
from Wednesday night's commute.”
That’s remindful of an old Henny Youngman line, which could be adapted to
apply to federal workers. Henny talked about a guy who, during a power outage
was stuck on an escalator overnight.
Which brings us to today’s update on Bill Clinton’s wife.
Margaret Talev and Jennifer Epstein @bloomberg.com, titled their
article today: “Campaigner-in-Chief
Bill Clinton Is Worried”
The piece begins: “Former President Bill Clinton, campaigning for his wife in
New Hampshire Wednesday, bluntly admitted how much more difficult than expected
Hillary Clinton's race for the Democratic presidential nomination has become.
“This has turned into an interesting election,” the candidate's husband told
a rally in Salem. “We’re fighting it out in Iowa. We’ve got a little lead that I
think is solidifying and maybe growing a little bit. We’re on a home-field
disadvantage here."
And then, probably not intentionally,
the text provided several points that need to be considered by voters. Because
they aren’t very flattering or supportive toward Bill’s wife when really
thought about. The former president went on to say, taking on Sanders' efforts to portray
Clinton as an insider and himself as an agent of change: “The nation needs not
anger but answers. I think you should vote for her because she is the best
change-maker I've ever met,” he said of his wife.
While that sounds good in a supporting speech, he’d really be hard-pressed to
provide a single example of what he’s talking about. Because in her government
career she’s accomplished nothing at all. Zip, zero, nada. But, then again, maybe she worked as a
teller in a bank, or in a subway token booth, making change the public never
heard about.
Bill’s wife herself, “took a more aggressive approach than in the past to
Sanders in Sunday's primary debate in Charleston, South Carolina. One day after
her foreign policy surrogates questioned Sanders' readiness, Clinton told NPR
that Sanders' comments about the Middle East are cause for “concern,”
questioning his understanding of the shifting alliances in the Middle East, and
emphasizing her own credentials and links to the current occupant of the White
House.
And then she delivered one of the most self-destructive statements in recent
political rhetoric, if one stops to really think about her words. “President
Obama, when he was elected, immediately turned to me. He trusted my experience
and my judgment,” she said.
Which means she’s taking responsibility and credit for Benghazi, Syria, ISIS,
Russia’s advances in Ukraine, and U.S. losses in Iraq and Afghanistan due to major
troop reductions. Thus, the nation’s entire foreign policy failures rest on her
shoulders. Which means she likely didn’t understand what she was really saying
when trying to win some credit, or is one of the most ignorant masochists who
ever tried to walk and chew gum at the same time.
Bringing up the continuing question: Joe Biden, Mayor Bloomberg, Jerry Brown,
and Starbuck’s chairman and CEO, Howard Schultz, are you guys reading this?
That’s it for today folks.
Adios
