The POTUS is now increasing his focus on disarming upstanding citizens, regardless of rights granted to them by the 2nd Amendment to the Constitution to keep and bear arms. That prompted a friend to forward an article, which was confirmed by further research, regarding the results in Australia following that nation’s gun ban, as follows:

“The Australian Gun Law Update

“Here's a thought to warm some of your hearts....

“From: Ed Chenel, A police officer in Australia

"Hi Yanks, I thought you all would like to see the real figures from Down Under.

It has now been 12 months since gun owners in Australia were forced by a new law to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by our own government, a program costing Australia taxpayers more than $500 million dollars.

The first year results are now in:

Australia-wide, homicides are up 6.2 percent,
Australia-wide, assaults are up 9.6 percent;
Australia-wide, armed robberies are up 44 percent (yes, 44 percent)!

In the state of Victoria.....

Homicides with firearms are now up 300 percent. (Note that
while the law-abiding citizens turned them in, the criminals did not
and criminals still possess their guns!)

"While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady decrease in armed robbery with firearms, this has changed drastically upward in the past 12 months, since the criminals now are guaranteed that their prey is unarmed. There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and assaults of the elderly, while the resident is at home.

"Australian politicians are at a loss to explain how public safety has decreased, after such monumental effort and expense was expended in 'successfully ridding Australian society of guns....'

"You won't see this on the American evening news or hear your governor or members of the State Assembly disseminating this information.

"The Australian experience speaks for itself. Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws affect only the law-abiding citizens.

Take note Americans, before it's too late!”

While the statistics on Australia's guns speak for themselves, as far as U.S. voter dissatisfaction with the direction and general deterioration of the nation overall is concerned, economist Art Laffer made a startling prediction about the upcoming elections, as posted by Rush on his website today:

“This is a story from over the weekend at TheHill.com.  Arthur Laffer is predicting that the Republicans will win 47 states.  He's predicting a 47-state landslide this November.  He said, "I would be surprised if the Republicans don't take 45, 46, 47 states out of the 50. I mean, I think we’re going to landslide this election.

"When I look at these candidates, I don't see one of them who wouldn’t do a great job as president," meaning on the Republican side. "I think Donald Trump is phenomenal. I think Rand Paul has done a great job. I even like Jeb Bush -- I think Jeb Bush is great, he did a wonderful job in Florida. Chris Christie -- phenomenal. ... Hillary Clinton's days are over."

Rush followed up by saying: “No, I'm not predicting it. All I'm telling you is I don't think Laffer is that far outside the mainstream with his prediction of 47 states.  You go back to the last time that happened, which is 1980, and I think the second-to-last poll of the presidential race had Jimmy Carter winning by nine points, if I'm not mistaken.  Reagan's landslide was a total shock, except that it wasn't.  Insiders knew all along.  Jimmy Carter conceded the race before the polls had even closed in California.  Jimmy Carter conceded the presidential race before 10 p.m. Eastern time election night 1980."

Rush concluded by adding: “Look at this now.  Gallup poll October 26th of 1980. So basically a couple weeks before the 1980 election. Two weeks out, Gallup had it Carter 47%, Reagan 39%. Carter was winning by eight two weeks before the election.  Exactly what I'm talking about.”

In that regard, today’s update on Bill Clinton's wife seems to be confirming the very strong possibility that what happened to Carter may repeat itself in November.

Ken Thomas @bigstory.ap.org, writes: “Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders on Tuesday received the endorsement of MoveOn.org, a grassroots organization that has been at the forefront of liberal causes.

“MoveOn says the Vermont senator was supported by 78.6 percent of its membership in an online vote of more than 340,000 members. Hillary Clinton received 14.6 percent and Martin O'Malley received 0.9 percent with the remaining members urging no endorsement.”

Then, in another body blow to Bill's wife, Reuters reports: “U.S. Vice President Joe Biden praised Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders for tapping into Americans’ concerns about growing income inequality, potentially giving the Vermont senator a boost weeks before the Iowa caucuses in which he is drawing close to front-runner Hillary Clinton.

"Bernie is speaking to a yearning that is deep and real and he has credibility on it," Biden said. "And that is the absolute enormous concentration of wealth in a small group of people with the new class now being able to be shown being left out."

"He said Clinton, who is campaigning in Iowa on Tuesday, had not focused on income inequality as long.

"It's relatively new for Hillary to talk about that," Biden said. "Hillary's focus has been other things up to now and that's been Bernie's. No one questions Bernie's authenticity on those issues."

At the same time, in the background: FoxNews.com reported a widening of the FBI investigation into Bill’s wife's wrongdoings.

Citing three unidentified intelligence officials, Fox says. “The (FBI) agents are investigating the possible intersection of Clinton Foundation donations, the dispensation of State Department contracts and whether regular processes were followed.”  Which means, the noose seems to be getting tighter much more rapidly now.

Sitting here typing the last few paragraphs, an old Bob Dylan standard came to mind:

“Come senators, congressmen
Please heed the call
Don't stand in the doorway
Don't block up the hall
For he that gets hurt
Will be he who has stalled
There's a battle outside ragin'
It'll soon shake your windows
And rattle your walls
For the times they are a-changin'”

Since that could be Sanders campaign theme song, it brings up the continuing question, which apparently Joe Biden is already answering: Mayor Bloomberg, Jerry Brown, and Starbuck’s chairman and CEO, Howard Schultz, are you guys reading this?

That’s it for today folks.

Adios
