BloggeRhythms

Today's common thread is what happens when the passage of time refutes the promises -or proves falsehoods- foisted on the public by self-serving politicians and others, who choose to support personal goals rather than the best interests of their nation.

The first item’s certainly nothing new, but is being circulated on the web as a reminder of who Kerry actually is. In 1970 he appeared alongside actress and anti-war activist Jane Fonda in Pennsylvania while she said, “Nothing would give me more pleasure than to shoot down an American fighter plane."

And this is the same guy who today just got back from Cuba, to continue promoting a nuclear giveaway to Iran that will do nothing except benefit the Iranians by increasing the likelihood of their threatening the rest of the Middle-East in the very near future.

Along the same lines, if anyone needs further proof of the worthlessness of the Iranian deal it was delivered today. Because now the ever reliable Rev. Al Sharpton says he “will push America’s black churches to lobby in favor of the Iran nuclear deal, a new report says.” And, if  he's backing it, it can't possibly be good for the nation.

According to The Huffington Post, “Sharpton is launching his push backing President Obama’s pact with Tehran this weekend. On Friday he said, “I am calling on ministers in black churches nationwide to go to their pulpits Sunday and have their parishioners call their senators and congressmen to vote yes on the Iran nuclear plan.”

A simple explanation for Sharpton’s involvement just might be the opportunity he sees to get back in the good graces of the POTUS who’s evidenced some displeasure with Al recently. Because, as a a practical matter, Sharpton probably knows less about this level of international strategic theory and weaponry threats than Curly, Moe or Larry grasp about creating quadratic equations.

And then we come to an article by Julia Horowitz @myway.com via Drudge, reporting that: “Three years after California voters passed a ballot measure to raise taxes on corporations and generate clean energy jobs by funding energy-efficiency projects in schools, barely one-tenth of the promised jobs have been created, and the state has no comprehensive list to show how much work has been done or how much energy has been saved.”

While a review by The Associated Press shows that, “Money is trickling in at a slower-than-anticipated rate, more than half of the $297 million given to schools so far has gone to consultants and energy auditors.” And even more preposterous, “The board created to oversee the project and submit annual progress reports to the Legislature has never met.”

Originally, “Voters in 2012 approved the Clean Energy Jobs Act by a large margin, closing a tax loophole for multistate corporations. The Legislature decided to send half the money to fund clean energy projects in schools, promising to generate more than 11,000 jobs each year.” However, to date, “only 1,700 jobs have been created in three years, raising concerns about whether the money is accomplishing what voters were promised.”

The significant job production failure seems to tie into an item mentioned here last Friday, August, 14th noting that, “back on 4/1/15, politico.com reported that, “The nonprofit launched by environmentalist Tom Steyer is shutting down its climate and energy program, in a likely signal that the billionaire is shifting resources to his organization’s political arm ahead of the presidential elections.”

As far as today’s article by Ms Horowitz is concerned, she writes regarding the Clean Energy Jobs Act that: “The proposition is also bringing in millions less each year than initially projected. Proponents such as de Leon and billionaire investor and philanthropist Tom Steyer, who funded the ballot measure with a personal $30 million, told voters in 2012 that it would send up to $550 million annually to the Clean Jobs Energy Fund. But it brought in just $381 million in 2013, $279 million in 2014 and $313 million in 2015.”

Thus, while “Steyer's office declined to make him available for an interview or to comment on the lower revenue figures,” it appears that reality has finally begun to sink in and even all those millions invested aren’t enough to disprove Mother Nature or delusional programs no one really cares about. Except perhaps, AlGore and Steyer himself.

Which brings us to today’s update on Bill Clinton’s wife and her growing email problems.

The Washington Times, reports that, “While media coverage has focused on a half-dozen of Hillary Rodham Clinton’s personal emails containing sensitive intelligence, the total number of her private emails identified by an ongoing State Department review as having contained classified data has ballooned to 60. Among the first 60 flagged emails, nearly all contained classified secrets at the lowest level of “confidential” and one contained information at the intermediate level of “secret.

“Those 60 emails do not include two emails identified in recent days by Intelligence Community Inspector General I. Charles McCullough III as containing “top-secret” information possibly derived from Pentagon satellites, drones or intercepts, which is some of the nation’s most sensitive secrets.”

It’s estimated that resolving questions about possible classified information isn’t likely to be completed until January, and at present, Bill’s wife is trying her best to brush the situation off as simply another political ploy fostered by hostile republicans. However, that isn’t nearly the case.

What's going on is an FBI investigation covering breaches in the nation’s security at the highest levels. Under the Espionage Act, John Kiriakou, a former CIA counter-terrorism operative spent two years in federal prison and three additional months under house arrest this year for leaking the name of a covert CIA official involved in "enhanced interrogation techniques.

Additionally, Shamai Leibowitz, Bradley Manning, Jeffrey Sterling, and former State Department official Stephen Kim, got jail time, with the underlying common thread in these cases being the handling of classified material.

Therefore, considering the infractions involved, it would be very hard to imagine that someone trying to win the nation’s highest office can simply ignore unlawfulness of this magnitude. Meaning that, sooner or later, the charges will have to be faced and adjudicated. Which leads to the ongoing question: Joe Biden, Mayor Bloomberg, Jerry Brown, and Starbuck’s chairman and CEO, Howard Schultz, are you reading this?

That's it for today folks.

Adios
