Rudy Giuliani continues to take heat, particularly from Democrats, as he tries to explain his controversial comments that President Obama doesn’t love America.

On Friday the former NYC mayor said that he believes the President has been influenced by communism and socialism. “Look, this man was brought up basically in a white family, so whatever he learned or didn’t learn, I attribute this more to the influence of communism and socialism” than to his race, Giuliani told the Celeste Katz of the NY Daily News.

Giuliani continued, “I don’t (see) this President as being particularly a product of African-American society or something like that. He isn’t. Logically, think about his background. . . The ideas that are troubling me and are leading to this come from communists with whom he associated when he was 9 years old” through family connections."

Ms Katz further reports that, “When Obama was 9, he was living in Indonesia with his mother and his stepfather. Giuliani said he was referencing Obama’s grandfather having introduced him to Frank Marshall Davis, a member of the Communist Party.”

The article registered with me, however, because it goes on to note that, “The former mayor also brought up Obama’s relationship with “quasi-communist” community organizer Saul Alinsky and the Rev. Jeremiah Wright,” both of whom I’ve referenced numerous times over the past four years regarding the president’s beliefs and allegiances.

Giuliani, set off a national firestorm when he told an exclusive gathering of conservatives, pols and media figures on Wednesday night: “I know this is a horrible thing to say, but I do not believe that this President loves America. He doesn’t love you. He doesn’t love me. He wasn’t brought up the way you were brought up and I was brought up: To love this country.”

What was most interesting though, is that while Mr. Giuliani pulled no punches, speaking out quite clearly on a subject that many agree with, particularly regarding where the president’s allegiances lie, others tried to dissociate themselves from the former NYC mayor.

The host of the “21 Club” get together, “billionaire Republican John Catsimatidis, distanced himself from Giuliani’s remarks, saying “I wouldn’t have said it. I respect the position of President.”

However, what the billionaire said is illogical because, it's far more than likely that just about all those finding fault with the current incumbent “respect the position of President.” But that doesn't mean they cannot find fault or completely disagree with and/or mistrust the individual holding the office.

At the same time, White House spokesman Josh Earnest was asked about Giuliani’s comments and said he felt “sorry” for him, saying, “It’s sad to see when somebody who has attained a certain level of public stature, and even admiration, tarnishes that legacy so thoroughly.”

Earnest went on to say, “And the truth is, I don’t take any joy, or vindication, or satisfaction from that. I think, really, the only thing that I feel is sorry for Rudy Giuliani today.”

In the meantime, though, while listening to Earnest in press conferences is ordinarily a total waste of time whereas he most often dodges question or answers incoherently in blind adherence to whoever gives him instructions, his credentials seem far below what one would except from one in his position.

According to Wikipedia, “Immediately following college, he worked in the 1997 Houston Mayoral Election for Lee Brown. Earnest served as a congressional aide to U.S. Congressman Marion Berry from 2002-2003 after working on Michael Bloomberg's first mayoral campaign. He then joined Senator Obama's presidential campaign as Obama's Iowa Communications Director. He also later served as Obama's Texas Communications Director during the primaries. He then served as the principal deputy press secretary to Jay Carney, replacing Bill Burton, occasionally filling in during press briefings and hosting West Wing Week, the president's "video diary" of the week.”

So, as far as depth of experience goes at the national or White House level, this guy Earnest has no real substance at all. Which explains why so much that he usually says sounds like totally disassociated gibberish. And whereas he has no personally achieved basis for determining fact from fiction whatsoever, he simply spouts what he’s told, not even aware that he sounds like a fool.

That’s it for today folks.

Adios
