Watching news shows this morning, getting
the daily update on the latest flaws in the health care tax, it occurred to me
that I couldn’t think of a socialist nation that ever succeeded in any way,
except for the ruling elite.
As I considered the issue further, I
thought of asking the incumbent when he thought things would finally improve
for the 50% of folks suffering economically here. But I couldn't reach him
whereas he’s in Hawaii playing golf.
And then it dawned on me that perhaps I
was looking at the subject from the wrong angle, due to my limited knowledge of
political theory. Because a few minutes later, I came across an article on
Drudge by Mark M. Meinero of CNN Money who wrote that :
“U.S. automaker Chrysler will become fully
owned by Italy's Fiat under terms of an agreement announced Wednesday that also
involves the United Auto Workers union.
The agreement comes more than 4-1/2 years
after the Obama administration brought Fiat in to keep Chrysler in business as
part of a packaged bankruptcy proceeding.
The U.S. government also held a stake in
Chrysler at the time it emerged from bankruptcy as compensation for the federal
bailout the automaker received. But Treasury sold those shares back to Chrysler
at a loss in 2011.”
In all, Chrysler Group received $10.5
billion in bailout funds, returning $9.2 billion in all, ultimately costing
taxpayers $1.3 billion to save employee's jobs which numbered 55,687 as of
December 2011.
So, I guess now I know how socialism
works.
Government steps in and spends taxpayer’s
funds to save troubled businesses. And then it helps them rebuild to
profitability to be later sold to another nation at a loss. Which means, I
suppose, that when the administration turns health care around financially,
they’ll sell the system to nations like Venezuela or Cuba or perhaps, give it
to them for free.
That’s it for today folks.
Adios
