BloggeRhythms 9/8/2013

I mentioned on Saturday, how interesting it was that the incumbent took considerable time in the midst of the week, to meet with David Axelrod and Valerie Jarrett while trying to decide whether to bomb Syria or not.

Axelrod by title is director of the Institute of Politics at the University of Chicago. An American political consultant based in Chicago, Illinois. According to Wikipedia “he was a top political advisor to President Bill Clinton as well as campaign advisor to President Barack Obama during Obama's successful run for Presidency in 2008."

Jarrett’s “Senior Advisor to the President of the United States and Assistant to the President for Public Engagement and Intergovernmental Affairs in the Obama administration.”

So, here we have two folks that are basically political hacks without a shred of military or foreign relations experience or capability, advising the free word‘s leader about whether to risk starting  another war in the Middle-East, although a growing majority of people with far more expertise believe the action to be a significant mistake.

Now, on the surface I think one would have to wonder why when a potential war could be instigated by the bombing, would the opinions of two insignificant image-molders hold any importance, when what’s needed most is in-depth military, geographic and intelligence input.

But, then, if you take a step back and look at the bigger picture you realize the Syrian situation may not even be the real issue at all. Because, it’s quite likely the two spin artists strongly suggested that the longer that conflict possibilities garnered the bulk of the headlines, the less the other government fiascos, screw-ups and huge mistakes would be covered in the media.

For example, I wonder how many readers paid attention to this one on foxnews.com/politics: “Prime Minister Stephen Harper has written to President Obama to say that he is prepared to work on a joint plan between the two countries to reduce carbon emissions, in an attempt to secure approval of the Keystone XL pipeline project, the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. reported Friday.

Harper reportedly wrote to Obama in late August, the Wall Street Journal reports, signaling his willingness to accept carbon-reduction targets proposed by the U.S. and to address concerns raised by the White House about Keystone and its impact on the environment.”

At the same time, further blow-ups keep occurring regarding the soon to be implemented new health care tax. Just yesterday IBM cut the healthcare benefits for 110,000 retirees for whom they can no longer afford to provide coverage.

And while union leaders are still trying to act as if things are fine and dandy with the administration they worked so hard to elect, they too are losing numbers quickly whereas language in the bill nobody read until passage is causing their members insurance costs to rise substantially.

So, almost everywhere you look, the administrations caused itself problems of significant magnitude. And that’s why just like a magician who uses plants in the audience to get everyone’s eyes off the ball, I think the two political advisors suggested that the incumbent get the whole world looking east for as long as possible. Because here at home in the west is where all his really huge mistakes are.

That's it for today folks.

Adios
