BloggeRhythms

Aside from the significant gains for the nation to be made by Trump's election, another bonus is now apparent whereas the mainstream media has eviscerated itself.

According to the staff @newsbusters.org: “The Media Research Center (MRC) announces the findings of a new post-election poll on what actual voters thought about the media’s influence on the 2016 presidential race. The MRC/YouGov poll was conducted on November 9 and 10.

Key findings:
  • 7 in 10 (69%) voters do not believe the news media are honest and truthful.
  • 8 in 10 (78%) of voters believe the news coverage of the presidential campaign was biased, with nearly a 3-to-1 majority believing the media were for Clinton (59%) vs. for Trump (21%).
  • Even 1/3 (32%) of Clinton voters believe the media were “pro-Clinton.”
  • 8% of Trump voters said they would have voted for Clinton if they had believed what the media were saying about Trump.
  • 97% of voters said they did not let the media’s bias influence their vote.
So, here we have another kind of vote where readers have rejected the formerly revered mainstream media. And whose fault was that? None other than the media itself, which willfully became a political ally for favored party’s and candidates. However, thanks to resources like Drudge and a mass of alternative outlets, the MSM bias was exposed, dealt with and neutralized with no way for them to recover. Because, once fraud is apparent, believability and integrity are lost forever.

On another subject, Trump hasn’t even crossed the White House threshold and already has foreign leaders double-talking, out of deep concern bordering on hysteria.

Pilita Clark in Marrakesh headed her column @ft.com: “Saudi Arabia warns Trump on blocking oil imports”

Khalid al-Falih, Saudi Arabia’s energy minister pointedly reminded the president-elect that the US “benefits more than anybody else from global free trade”, adding, “energy is the lifeblood of the global economy”.

“Mr. Falih, whose kingdom is the world’s largest exporter of crude, said that, although the US imported millions of barrels of oil, it had also “benefited hugely” from being able to freely sell “significant amounts” of exported products.”

In providing background for his rationale, Mr Falih, stated: “This free trade had underpinned a thriving refining industry and a shale revolution that had been able to “create a lot of jobs and value”, he said.

“The US is sort of the flag-bearer for capitalism and free markets,” he added.

“The US continues to be a very important part of a global industry that is interconnected, that is dealing with a fungible commodity which is crude oil. So having equalisation through free trade is very healthy for oil.”

What Mr. Falih carefully omitted, though, was the stimulus for U.S. production increases and shale development which was driven in great part by the OPEC stranglehold on oil supply and price manipulation, in OPEC’s favor. America would have been very happy to keep importing an inexpensive fuel supply, had others greed not intervened.

Falih went on to say: “Mr Trump had made some “positive” comments about the importance of fossil fuels.” And from there, Falih became ambiguous as he said: “We need to address climate change, we need to limit the temperature rise globally to the maximum extent but we cannot do it at the expense of keeping people in poverty and stopping their economic development,” the Saudi minister said.

“While the world’s use of fossil fuels would inevitably “decline over time” as renewable energy became cheaper and better, he said oil and gas were going to remain “a significant part of the energy mix” for years.

“The Paris agreement allowed all countries to tackle climate change according to their own capabilities, which meant no one was suggesting the US had to be put in “a straitjacket”, the minister said.

“If you think of economies like India and China and other energy intensive economies, I think the US has a lot more flexibility to meet Paris with less sacrifices,” he said.

“The US already enjoys a competitive advantage in terms of its energy costs and I think, given what is happening in technology and renewables, especially in the US capabilities in that regard, I think the US will find that provided everybody lives by Paris, the US would retain if not improve its global competitive position.”

All of which boils down to one simple premise whereunder Falih believes that the U.S. should keep paying for climate change protection for all those nations that can’t afford it, while at the same time Saudi oil production should continue unimpeded because fossil fuel is critical to combating poverty and “economic development” around the globe.

And if that isn’t self-serving double-talk, it would be quite a challenge to find a better example.

Reader FranklinGray adeptly put it this way: “Fact is, all major players doing business with USA are scared.  They know they have been sucking money out of the country at a tune of 50 billion a month for 16 years and that the people are waking up to that.  They do not want the money flow interrupted by a president that can't be bought and a voter base finally realizing what has been happening.

“The only question in my mind is, do these leaders think their threats have any effect on Trump and his followers?  Do they think we are that stupid?”

Speaking of Trump, here’s an open letter to the president-elect from myself.

Dear President-elect Trump,

I know you are presently a very, very busy man working diligently to establish your administration. However, please don’t forget to put  A “Vacancy” sign on the door of the Sharpton Suite in the White House.

Best regards, MB

Further evidence of Trump's immediate impact came from Stephen Dinan @washingtontimes.com, who writes: “Illegal immigrants are preparing to ask President Obama to pardon some 750,000 Dreamers, saying such a move is their last, best hope to stave off what they fear will be a wave of deportations once Donald Trump takes the Oval Office.

“Community leaders have planned a rally in New York on Wednesday to make the request.

“Millions of law abiding undocumented immigrants are fearful of what will happen when the new Administration takes control in January,” the group of New York state lawmakers and immigration advocates said in a statement announcing the rally. “However, President Obama has the power of pardons that he can use to protect all DACA enrollees.”

“As of September, more than 740,000 illegal immigrants had been approved for Mr. Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, a minor amnesty that grants young adult illegal immigrants a two-year stay of deportation and issues them work permits, entitling them to driver’s licenses and some taxpayer benefits.”

Now, it obviously remains to be seen as to what Trump will do in regard to Illegal’s presently here. Yet, the trepidation already among them illustrates concern’s not present before.

Which means that without lifting a presidential finger, he has illegal’s already here and most likely others planning to come here, rethinking their situations. A tremendous positive step in the right direction for the nation.

While there’s no reason for daily updates on Bill Clinton’s wife anymore, she’s political history, the team at FoxNews.com keeps following her anyway.

This morning, Catherine Herridge and Pamela K. Browne reported that: “At least four congressional investigations into Hillary Clinton’s personal email use and mishandling of classified information are expected to go forward even after the former secretary of state’s election loss last week, Republican lawmakers tell Fox News.

“The probes, which cover allegations that Clinton lied to Congress about her email practices in October 2015 and that government records were destroyed, are ongoing and not dependent on the election's outcome, two senior Republican senators said.”

While much background was cited regarding all four cases, Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson, chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee’s remarks summarized the overall situation, as follows:

“I think it’s one of the messages of this election that the public is disgusted when they see double standards, when they think people in high places, high government officials can get away with what ordinary citizens can't,” Johnson said. “So, I just think it’s extremely important to follow this thing through and get all the information. Make it public.”

Which means that unless there’s a pardon granted by the outgoing POTUS, Bill’s wife and a host of others may very well have adjudication in their futures. Something that Trump
supporters hope is a campaign promise that he’ll live up to. And if not, he’s going to have a lot of explaining to do, whereas his credibility will suffer greatly.

That's it for today folks.

Adios
