Yesterday, it was written here that on Friday, Obama said at a press
conference: “Iran has to understand what every country in the world understands,
which is businesses want to go where they feel safe, where they don’t see
massive controversy, where they can be confident that transactions are going to
operate normally.” He added. “And that’s an adjustment that Iran’s going to have
to make as well.”
And now, today, it seems that not only does Iran not have any intention of
heeding the POTUS, they’ve taken further steps of outright aggression, as usual.
Dennis Ross @.jpost.com/Middle-East, reports that: “Iran warned the
US on Monday that any attempt to encroach on the Islamic Republic's ballistic
missile program would constitute the crossing of a "red line."
"The US calculations about the Islamic Republic and the Iranian nation are
fully incorrect," Iranian Deputy Chief of Staff Brig-Gen Maassoud Jazzayeri was
quoted by the Fars News Agency as saying.
"The White House should know that defense capacities and missile power,
specially at the present juncture where plots and threats are galore, is among
the Iranian nation's red lines and a backup for the country's national security
and we don’t allow anyone to violate it," Jazzayeri said."
And then, “Jazzayeri accused US President Barack Obama of making vows and
breaking them by saying removal of sanctions on Iran would be conditioned on the
Islamic Republic halting its ballistic missile program.”
After the IRGC fired two Qadr missiles from northern Iran, Brigadier General
Amir Ali Hajizadeh was quoted as saying: “The reason we designed our missiles
with a range of 2000 km is to be able to hit our enemy the Zionist regime from a
safe distance," by the ISNA agency.
“The IRGC, a powerful force that reports directly to the supreme leader, is
deeply suspicious of the United States and its allies. It maintains dozens of
short and medium-range ballistic missiles, the largest stock in the Middle
East.”
Mr. Ross concludes his article by opining: “Washington fears those missiles
could be used to carry a nuclear warhead at some point in the future, even after
Iran implemented a nuclear deal with world powers in January that imposes strict
limits and checks on its disputed nuclear program.”
Yet, the administration still handed over a billion dollars to Iran with no
method of enforceability, short of war, to guarantee that Iran would comply with
its empty words and obviously false promises.
On another subject, for what it’s worth, “Fair and Balanced”
FoxNews.com had links to 29 items today in the “politics” section of
it’s website. Of the 29 total, 15 involved Trump, each having a photo of
him alongside the story heading. But, that’s far better than their news channel
where the hosts and hostettes actually campaign proudly for him 24/7/365.
And then, on another favorite topic: Marc Morano @climatedepot.com,
writes: “The event, described as ‘exceptional’ by French meteorologist Alain
Museleque, took place on Thursday, March 31 in the municipality of St. Claude.
Reports from French media indicate that a very fine snowfall blanketed the hills
above the town.
“Museleque explained the extraordinary phenomenon on Guadeloupe Premiere TV.
“We had a mass of clouds that arrived over St. Claude…. In the mass of clouds,
we had the creation of some snowflakes which fell to the ground. This has never
before been seen in Guadeloupe. This is an exceptional event that we will never
forget.”
Mr. Morano went on to mention that yesterday: “Thanks to damaging wind gusts
of 50, 60 miles an hour and heavy snow…Two rounds of snow were expected in the
Upper Midwest, Great Lakes and Northeast, The Weather Channel reported.
“Eight inches of snow was recorded near Negaunee in northwestern Michigan,
just over 7 inches fell in Wisconsin near Twin Lakes, and 5.5 inches of snow was
seen in Minnesota near Leonidas Saturday as the storm swept through, according
to The Weather Channel. Parts of Western Pennsylvania could see 8 to 10 inches.
And finally, a segment headline: “Colorado Ski Resort sees second snowiest
march on record – Snowiest in 50 years.”
The text reads: “Wow! Low and behold 101 inches for the month is
extraordinary,”’ said Hurlbert. That’s almost 8½.5 feet (2.5 meters) – in just
the month of March. I thought Colorado ski resorts were supposed to be out of
business by now. Instead, they get one of the biggest March snowfall amounts on
record.”
Much of the reader commentary following the article dwelt on how “scientists”
have skewed, lost, or simply ignored hard data in conflict with their premise
that the planet's been warming, despite there being no material temperature
change in the past nineteen years.
In that regard, “EndRun airlineman”
commented: “Results can be bought. We have the best Public Serpents money can
buy.”
On another subject, it was revealed today by the investigative staff
@fusion.com via Drudge, that a “trove of 11.5 million leaked
internal documents from the Panamanian law firm Mossack Fonseca, showing how
hundreds of thousands of people with money to hide used anonymous shell
corporations across the world.”
Names included: Mauricio Macri, President of Argentina, Ayad Allawai, former
Iraqi PM, Petro Poroshenko, President of Ukraine, the family of Nawaz Sharif, PM
of Pakistan along with several close friends of Vladimir Putin.
What was most interesting, however, was a comment from reader, Todd Peterson,
who included two undeniably true quotes regarding how taxation prevents economic
growth. Especially impressive considering the provider's of the thoughts:
"An economy hampered by restrictive tax rates will never produce enough
revenue to balance the budget, just as it will never produce enough jobs or
enough profits."
- John F. Kennedy
- John F. Kennedy
"We contend that for a nation to try to tax itself into prosperity is like a
man standing in a bucket and trying to lift himself up by the handle."
- Winston Churchill"
- Winston Churchill"
Makes one wonder if either Democrat presidential candidate ever read any
history. And if they did, it would be interesting to learn why they didn’t
understand it. Perhaps both went to public schools populated by tenured
teachers.
And then, a Facebook friend posted the following, which speaks for
itself.
Bringing us to today’s update on Bill Clinton’s wife.
John Podhoretz on Saturday @nypost.com, titled his “Opinion” piece,
“’Godmother’ Hillary shows her mob boss side.”
Mr. Podhoretz begins: “Hillary Clinton lost her temper the other day. She
said she was “sick of the Sanders campaign lying about me.” It’s hard to believe
that this is what she’s sick of — since Sanders is, without question, the
gentlest opposition candidate any front-runner has faced in the history of
American politics.
“The truth is likely this: She’s sick, all right — sick of having to run
against Sanders.”
The article than goes on to describe the evolution of the campaign to date,
illustrating how in situation by situation, event to event, primary by primary,
Sanders is performing far better than expected by anyone. Bill’s wife in
particular.
And then, Mr. Podhoretz presents some astounding developments, whereas: “The
most dramatic sign of the Bernie surge came on Friday, when we learned that in
the first quarter of 2016, the Sanders campaign raised $109 million. That’s
January, February and March. To give you a sense of just how mammoth this is,
the Hillary Clinton campaign raised $112 million in 2015 — only $3 million more
over the course of an entire year.
“No one in the history of American politics has ever raised this much money
this fast. Ever.
“But you don’t have to be an old Vermont commie hippie to remember Bob
Dylan’s lyric that “you don’t need to be a weatherman to know which way the wind
blows.” Right now Sanders is generating all the enthusiasm and excitement in the
party. That’s what the consecutive victories show. It’s what the money haul
shows, and it’s what the mammoth crowds he draws everywhere he goes are showing.
“Meanwhile, Hillary is generating all the enthusiasm of the second-weekend
audience of a fifth sequel to “Divergent.”
“Stranger things have happened than Bernie toppling Hillary at this point.
Trump, for example.”
And then, Mr. Podhoretz proves his thorough understanding of how things work
in the Clinton world, as he projects what will happen if Sanders and his
followers, fall short of their goal.
If [the goals] are not [met], “though, watch how the Godmother plays the long
game. She will be loving and accepting and full of praise and admiration for
Sanders and his supporters at her convention coronation. It will be like the
meeting of the Five Families, when Vito Corleone agrees to share the political
wealth with his fellow Dons.
“Then say she wins the presidency — and at that point, the Godmother will
settle all family business. It won’t be pretty. My advice to America’s leftist
activists would be to avoid all massage tables, lest they meet Moe Greene’s
fate. And if Sanders then asks Huma Abedin if she “can help me out, for old
times’ sake,” Hillary’s consigliere will answer, “Can’t do it, Bernie.”
Nonetheless, Sanders fundraising and followers illustrate some very serious
doubts about Bill’s wife’s popularity in her own party. Because, in their own
way, at present supporters are “voting” for Sanders heaviy with their contribution dollars. Which raises the ongoing question again: Joe Biden, Mayor Bloomberg, Jerry Brown,
and Starbuck’s chairman and CEO, Howard Schultz, are you guys reading this?
That’s it for today folks.
Adios
