BloggeRhythms 7/7/2013

I write about politics almost daily, simply because the subject consumes so much media space and time, whereas politicians actions and beliefs so greatly affect all of our lives.

From a personal view though, while I tend to favor free markets. low taxes, limited government involvement and firmly believe the economy is paramount because it drives and supports everything else, as far as pure political theory goes, I couldn’t care less.

Resultant of my non-interest in politics itself,  I look at issues individually, regardless of which party conceives, endorses, or in any way affiliates with them. This approach makes the most sense to me whereas, it’s virtually impossible for any individual or group to be correct 100% of the time.

However, although logic indicates that perfection’s absolutely not possible, it never ceases to amaze me that dyed-in-the-wool Kool Ade drinkers on either side won’t acquiesce to the other, even when irrefutable facts indicate otherwise beyond doubt.

In that regard, watching Fox Business this morning a panelist brought up the fact that the press on the left is lauding the administration because gasoline prices seem to be stabilizing at somewhere around $3.50 a gallon. Lower than its been for a long time. This is of course before the upward pressure now building due to the upheaval in Egypt, but as of right now, increasing prices are yet to take effect.

In response, Charles Payne noted that when “W” Bush was in office and gas prices rose to $3.50, the same leftists screamed and hollered, claiming Bush and Dick Cheney were in bed with the Iraqi's and making personal fortunes through Halliburton Corporation and the cost of fuel was artificially high and far too costly.

So, here we have another example of why the nation’s in the shape its in. Because confirmed zealots will follow their leader even when that idol is marching them into walls. And when political conviction overrides basic logic, there’s no hope for rational judgment. Which I guess is why, that except for those at the top of the Democrat party who’ve always selfishly bled their constituents dry, you’ll never find any members with a dime left in their pockets.

That’s it for today folks.

Adios
