BloggeRhythms

The president may not know a thing about governance, and is likely the least qualified chief executive in the nation’s history, but there’s no doubt he’s mastered the business of politics.

Waiting until his term’s almost over and not having to run for office again, he’s currently unloading a barrage of senseless, pointless and irrational edicts making sense to very few but himself. Such as permitting Iran to develop nuclear weaponry, the Castro’s to further enrich themselves at the expense of the Cuban people, while ISIS grows unbridled without fear of facing US ground troops.

But, despite the seemingly senseless decisions regarding job performance, a personal affront to a significant portion of the American public took place last Thursday in Hawaii.

To set the stage: Several months ago, the formula for reporting unemployment was changed by the administration to eliminate the long-term jobless from the statistic. Therefore, while the unemployment rate now “appears” to be 5.8%, the truer number is over 12% primarily due to those who’ve given up looking for work entirely. Similarly, almost half the population is currently receiving some kind of government assistance.

In the meanwhile, according to Fox News.com, “The Obamas are closing out their Hawaii vacation at one of the ritziest joints on Oahu.

“President Obama and first lady Michelle Obama dined Thursday night for nearly three hours at Vintage Cave, an exclusive restaurant that charges up to $500,000 for membership.

“According to the restaurant's website, guests are whisked into a "cave-like environment" and encouraged to "escape the ordinary." The Waikiki restaurant's interior is composed of granite "quarried in the mountains of India" and custom-crafted furniture in a space that evokes the "underground architecture of ancient Rome."

“And the meal? About as fine dining as it gets. According to Honolulu magazine, the bill for two can approach $1,000.

“The restaurant offers two tiers of memberships: $500,000 for a "charter member,' and $50,000 for a "special member."

“The perks include access to a private wine cellar, discounts and use of the restaurant for private functions. Members can also invite non-members -- though it's unclear whether anybody sponsored the president and first lady as their guests.”

Now, this writer’s been around for a while and is certainly aware that many, if not most, top executive positions in major organizations offer significant, quite costly perks. However, those benefits apply to private businesses and aren’t awarded to people who ran for public office, promising to make things better for the underprivileged, needy, and those who are oppressed.

In conclusion, once again a few readers added salient points.

Obamafuzznuts 2015, assumedly referring to the health care tax, wrote: “my annual deduction is 6500 per, then I'm stuck with 20% after that, but who can afford 26,000 just to meet the deductible, not me.”

Then, AmericaneedsaPresident added, “Now here is a family that understands the struggle of the working class.”

And although on another subject, chevyliddle typed, “Obama: I'd like to take this moment to express my condolences to the Cuomo family....................................Fore!!”

That’s it for today folks.

Adios
