According to Fox News.com, President Obama signed off on a mission Friday night to capture Ahmed Abu Khattala long thought to be one of the ringleaders of the deadly Benghazi attack, in which U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans died.

The incumbent said, "With this operation, the United States has once again demonstrated that we will do whatever it takes to see that justice is done when people harm Americans. We will continue our efforts to bring to justice those who were responsible for the Benghazi attacks."

However, why is he pleased to see the results of what he and his administration keep telling everyone was only a spontaneous crowd reaction to a propaganda film?

Then, adding to the incredulous IRS whopper about the loss of all of  Lois Lerner’s emails regarding the targeting of administration rivals, Eliana Johnson in The Corner on National Review on-line writes that “It’s not just Lois Lerner’s e-mails. The Internal Revenue Service says it can’t produce e-mails from six more employees involved in the targeting of conservative groups, according to two Republicans investigating the scandal.”

The solution, though, came from reader Mr. D s who commented: “Put the right people behind bars and some techie will suddenly find the emails.”

Reporter Sharyl Attkisson also addressed the issue on CBS Philly noting, “And it also then would be exposing a huge vulnerability in our federal computers if indeed data has been irretrievably lost by this. Remember, but the IRS is part of Healthcare.gov, if the IRS system can indeed be so vulnerable that some sort of crash can lose all kind of important data like this, what does it say about the federal system?”

The answer is that it doesn’t say much. Because the administration's proven continually that is has neither the knowledge, skills, nor trained personnel to handle the nation’s health care in any way at all. Yet, it keeps making mistake after mistake, misjudging continually, but won’t give up although their system works even worse than anywhere in Europe or Canada.

Which brings us to today’s disappointment from Bill Clinton’s wife.

According to a source quoted in the Weekly Standard, “Between us, they are nervous at [Simon & Schuster],’ says the source, who gave permission for his email to be published. ‘Sales were well below expectations and the media was a disaster.’ According to this source, a Simon & Schuster insider, ‘They sold 60,000 hard covers first week and 24,000 ebooks.’ The publishing house was ‘hoping and praying for 150,000 print first week.’…It's been reported that one million copies of Clinton's book were shipped weeks before the June 10 publication date. ‘They will be lucky to sell 150,000 total lifetime,’ the source writes in the email.”

And that leads to the question of who the readers actually are. Because other than those having to pore through the tome, such as medias types, perhaps educators and library personnel, who else on earth would even want to thumb through it?

That’s it for today folks

BloggerRhythms

An article in today’s New York Times by Tim Arango, Kareem Fahim and Ben Hubbardjune discloses information collected by Brian Fishman, a counterterrorism researcher at the New America Foundation.

According to the writer’s, “Under the leadership of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, who spent time in an American detention facility,” the group now known as ISIS “has shown itself to be unrelentingly violent and purist in pursuing its religious objectives, but coldly pragmatic in forming alliances and gaining and ceding territory.”

While Mr. Fishman has described the group as “a governmental amoeba, constantly shifting its zone of control across Iraq’s western expanses” as its forces redeploy, an astounding fact is addressed.

It seems that, as far back as 2007 “the group published a pamphlet laying out its vision for Iraq. It cited trends in globalization as well as the Quran in challenging modern notions of statehood as having absolute control over territory. And one of the most important duties of the group, according to the pamphlet, is something that it has done consistently: free Sunnis from prison.”

“When you go back and read it, it’s all there,” Mr. Fishman said. “They are finally getting their act together.”

So, here’s further confirmation of the fact that the incumbent has not only placed his legacy and political beliefs above reality, but also leads to the most basic administerial question of all: How is it possible that the one in charge of the most sophisticated intelligence system in the world didn’t know this? Or, what’s even worse, knew but didn’t care.

However, by electing to neglect responsibility and illogically choosing the political path, that decision itself has now returned what’s likely the most damaging result imaginable. Because since he himself removed any and all chances of attaining a satisfactory result, the U.K.’s Guardian reports that: “Tehran hints at cooperation with US to aid Nouri al-Maliki as jihadist group threatens to take Baghdad.”

Thus, this situation’s been so badly botched that a bitter enemy may now be needed for assistance. But then, what might have to be given in return for that help? My first thought would be, relaxation of the nuclear weapons ban on that nation, allowing them to build their bomb above board. And it’s doubtful any worse mistakes could be made than the one that has now been evidenced here.

That’s it for today folks.

BloggeRhythms

According to Fox News.com, in a commencement speech at the University of California on Saturday, the incumbent “forged ahead with his second-term agenda, asking college graduates to join his fight to curb global warming and to welcome young illegal immigrants into the county.”

And while he was talking, ISIS militants continued toward Bagdad in their march to take over as much of Iraq as they can.

What is most interesting about the situation is that although the attack itself seems a direct result of incredibly bad decisions in U.S. foreign policy over the past five years, the terrorist leader, Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi, was caught by U.S. troops in 2005, held captive for four years and then released.

Therefore, while there’s very little doubt that the five enemy fighters recently released from Guantanamo Bay will return to leadership positions, the administration not only doesn’t learn from past mistakes, it repeats them over and over again, each time getting worse.

It’s also quite intriguing to remember that many of the problems arising in the region today were predicted by Mitt Romney in the last presidential campaign.

In that regard, according to the Los Angeles Times, on Friday he addressed Bill Clinton’s wife’s foreign policy record, saying that her "challenge will not be about wealth or poverty, but instead will be about her record as secretary of State."

"That record has been extraordinarily lacking and ineffective," he said, “It is hard to think of a place in the world where our foreign policy interests were enhanced by virtue of her serving as secretary of State. And the eruption of challenges throughout the world just underscores the ineffectiveness of the foreign policy of the Obama administration, of which she was obviously a key part."

So, I guess, since Mr. Romney’s absolutely correct about foreign policy mistakes, anyone in the incumbent’s shoes today would much prefer to talk about the weather instead of how badly they’ve done with everything else they've touched.

That’s it for today folks.

There’s really not much point in mentioning the horrendous mistakes the administration’s made in abandoning U.S. gains in Iraq. Every passing hour adds to the errors compiling throughout the Middle-East, while media outlets chronicle every move.

Nonetheless, what the foreign policy miscues illustrate is that not only do the incumbent’s gross incapability's demonstrate almost total incompetence, but even worse, he’s proven he can get completely away with them. And in that regard, another situation here at home proves the point beyond doubt.

Fox News on-line reports that, “The Internal Revenue Service told Congress Friday it has lost a trove of emails to and from Lois Lerner, a central figure in the agency's Tea Party controversy, sparking outrage from congressional investigators who have been probing the agency for more than a year.

The IRS said it cannot locate many of Lerner's emails prior to 2011 because her computer crashed during the summer of that year.”

And although this latest excuse ranks right along with the standard grade school student’s plea that “the dog ate my homework,” there’s little doubt that Ms. Lerner will get away with  it.

So, its no wonder that all the incumbent really does is travel to places, here and abroad, where he can play golf unencumbered by the responsibility’s of his office. Because, as has been proven consistently for the past five years, nobody in either party’s going to step up and stop him.

That’s it for today folks.

After the September 11th terrorist attacks in 2001, the U.S.significantly increased its military capabilities at home and abroad, including becoming a major presence in Iraq. In all, more than 4,000 Americans were killed liberating and then pacifying that nation, at a cost of an estimated $1.7 trillion.

The incumbent, however, choosing political pandering over the exercise of national leadership has now abandoned Iraq, not only erasing the gains in that nation, but once again exposing the U.S. to foreign threats. Because Islamist radicals now have an an oil-rich haven from which to launch new strikes against the U.S. and its allies.

Compounding the incredibly poor decision is another major blunder, as reported by Fox News.com. “The political backdrop for this horrifying moment comes as the Obama administration is fighting a losing spin battle to defend the president’s decision to release five Taliban commanders as part of his plan to leave Afghanistan. News that the head of the black-flagged battalions of Islamist forces driving on Baghdad was once a U.S. prisoner, released from captivity in 2009, does not cast the Taliban release in a very favorable light.”

What’s more, the grave miscalculation -stemming from foreign affairs incapability- is also a serious blow to likely presidential contender, Bill Clinton’s wife, because: “New revelations in The Weekly Standard tie one of the five to a key player in the 9/11 attacks. This development is a game changer in knowing how dangerous these five really are, especially after former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said to NBC News last week, ‘These five guys are not a threat to the United States are a threat to the safety and security of Afghanistan and Pakistan.’”

Therefore, the two top Democrats at present both posses no leadership capabilities, preferring to concentrate on obtaining votes instead. Yet, according to two Gallup poll from January 10, 2014, “Americans continue to be more likely to identify as conservatives (38%) than as liberals (23%).” Therefore, this latest show of incapability should likely cause huge losses of support for both of them.

And what’s just as bad is who’s going to wind up footing huge costs caused by the incumbent’s mistakes. The American public of course.

Javier E. David of CNBC on-line writes that: “The surge in crude helped yank major U.S. stocks sharply lower. Brent climbed by nearly $3 to over $113 a barrel for the first time in 2014, and its highest since September 10. U.S. crude soared by $2.13 to settle at $106.53 a barrel, its highest since mid-September 2013.”

So, another day’s gone by and another costly crisis has arisen. This one not only in dollars however, whereas this one will also likely involve lives spent retaking hard-earned gains lost by leadership’s incompetence.

That’s it for today folks.

BloggeRhythms

It’s truly amazing to watch the administration's misjudgments and mistakes compile in what has to be the most incredible self-destruction in history.

When campaigning, the incumbent made U.S. disengagement in Iraq a centerpiece of his re-election campaign. He even attacked Mitt Romney for saying a too-speedy withdrawal had destabilized the country.

Now, today, Iraqi allies are pleading for America’s help in staving off a rapidly advancing Islamist army that has captured multiple cities American forces suffered heavy casualties in liberating.

As far as judgment errors are concerned, in Daniel Halper’s, The Blog in the Weekly Standard he quotes Joe Biden who said this about withdrawal: "I am very optimistic about -- about Iraq. I mean, this could be one of the great achievements of this administration. You're going to see 90,000 American troops come marching home by the end of the summer. You're going to see a stable government in Iraq that is actually moving toward a representative government."

Biden went on; “I spent -- I've been there 17 times now. I go about every two months -- three months. I know every one of the major players in all of the segments of that society. It's impressed me. I've been impressed how they have been deciding to use the political process rather than guns to settle their differences."

Now, as it turns out, while Biden was standing around being “impressed,” Iraqi militants were busy planning on how to take the country back, which obviously he missed completely.

Then, yesterday, Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel gave congressional testimony about the incumbent’s disregarding a law requiring him to notify Congress about releasing enemy fighters from the prison at Guantanamo Bay. Hagel said: “I value the Defense Department’s partnership with this Congress, and the trust we’ve developed over the years. I know that trust has been broken. I know you have questions about that.” And then, he added that he would do it again.

So, here we have an administration that despite continually proving their lack of knowledge and incompetence, when caught red-handed flouting laws, as well as ignoring the U.S. Congress, proudly proclaims that not only do their mistakes not matter to them, they’d willingly and willfully repeat their errors.

Then, on “Special Report with Bret Baier” retired Air Force Maj. Eric Stahl, who served as commander and pilot of the C-17 aircraft that was used to transport the corpses of the four Americans killed in the Benghazi attacks… said members of a CIA-trained Global Response Staff who raced to the scene of the attacks were ‘confused’ by the administration’s repeated implication of the video as a trigger for the attacks, because “they knew during the attack…who was doing the attacking.” Stahl told Baier: “Right after they left the consulate in Benghazi and went to the [CIA] safehouse, they were getting reports that cell phones, consulate cell phones, were being used to make calls to the attackers' higher ups.’”

Thus, in this case, not only did terrorists attack the Benghazi consulate, they used equipment they stole from that very site to aid their actions. And although its doubtful that any administration could perform as poorly as this one, its incredible that they keep finding ways to outdo their mistakes.

Which leads to another error to be paid for by the public.

According to the Daily Caller: “Most employers expect Obamacare to hike their health insurance costs and are responding by boosting their workers’ share of the cost, according to a Wednesday survey. Eighty-eight percent of companies expect Obamacare itself to increase the cost over providing health care to employees, according to a study by the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans which questioned close to 700 human resources and health benefits professionals.”

So, while the administration continues to significantly harm citizens in general, regardless of political affiliation or preference, the likely candidate for next time around seems to be dong some self-destruction.

Fox news Chris Stirewalt reports that “Most politicians would kill for a 54 percent favorability rating, but for the 2016 Democratic frontrunner the number is a troubling sign. As Hillary Clinton’s campaign blitz surrounding her latest book drags on amid gaffes and fudgy facts, her previously stratospheric ratings have begun to slide. A new Gallup poll  shows Clinton down a dozen points since leaving her post as secretary of state, with a 5-point drop since February. Partly that is because Clinton’s candidacy is forcing perceptions through a more partisan prism and partly because she is disappointing the massive expectations she and her campaign organization have created for her.”

Now, there’s certainly plenty of time until November 2016. But, for someone like Bill Clinton’s wife who can do nothing but rest on her laurels, the road ahead can only get rougher. Because, in her case, aside from marrying Bill, there really aren’t any laurels at all.

That’s it for today folks.

BloggeRhythms

Last night a major national Republican figure, and many other politicians of all stripes, received the shock of their lives.

Dave Brat, an economics and ethics professor at Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, Virginia ousted House Majority Leader Eric Cantor from his seat representing Virginia’s 7th Congressional District, despite Cantor’s power-base and 28-to-1 cash advantage.

Democrats, such as the ever-dense Debbie Wasserman Schultz and even thicker Charles Schumer, were quick to claim that a Tea Party radical had now become a major threat to the nation.

The truth, however, is that according to Fox News.com, “While tea party groups are stampeding to Richmond to lay claim to Brat’s success, they’re late in coming. Brat had zero backing from any of the national groups that are forever raising money for their fight against the GOP old guard. Brat is certainly more conservative than Cantor, but he hardly fits the preferred national narrative.”

Reading the reactions, curious to learn what Professor Brat was all about, I went to his website to find the issues he presented to voters, which are:

  • “That the free enterprise system is the most productive supplier of human needs and economic justice,
  • That all individuals are entitled to equal rights, justice, and opportunities and should assume their responsibilities as citizens in a free society,
  • That fiscal responsibility and budgetary restraints must be exercised at all levels of government,
  • That the Federal Government must preserve individual liberty by observing Constitutional limitations,
  • That peace is best preserved through a strong national defense,
  • That faith in God, as recognized by our Founding Fathers is essential to the moral fiber of the Nation.”
Now, if those are the beliefs of a loose cannon lunatic, as leading Dem’s would have you believe, it seems that the Founding Fathers were dangerous radicals too and their British captors were the one’s that were right.

However, what really took place yesterday was a significant indication that voters have now had enough. And, regardless of party, entrenched DC denizens are all now vulnerable. While what’s even worse for them all is, it obviously doesn't matter how money they can raise, how much they advertise, or how much political power they might hold, when representatives won’t deliver what voters want… those voters will seek out those they prefer all by themselves.

Which brings us to Bill Clinton’s wife once again, who was interviewed by ABC New’s Diane Sawyer. And, apparently, Ms Sawyer, just like the Virginia voters above, didn’t roll over either.

Instead of throwing softballs and bowing in deference, according to Erik Wemple of the Washington Post: “ABC News Diane Sawyer destroys Hillary Rodham Clinton on Benghazi.”

The article itself contains several examples of typical Clinton bobbing, weaving and avoidance of direct, self-implicating answers but is very well-worth reading, so here’s a link-diane-sawyer-destroys-hillary-rodham-clinton-on-Benghazi

That’s it for today folks.
