BloggeRhythms

At an 11AM press conference this morning, FBI director James Comey let Bill Clinton’s wife off the hook, in what had to be a result of intense pressure from the administration. It also indicates what last week's "chance" Phoenix airport meeting between Bill and Attorney General, Loretta Lynch, was likely all about. Because the evidence disclosed by Comey said something else entirely than the FBI decison.

As far as the facts are concerned, Comey said the investigation showed that 110 emails in 52 email chains were determined to include classified information at the time they were received.

He also said that the FBI assessed that there was no direct evidence that Clinton's personal email domain was hacked, however, “It is possible, that hostile actors gained access to her server.”

Furthermore, some did hack into email accounts owned by people she traded messages with, whereas he explained: “We do assess that hostile actors gained access to the private commercial email accounts of people with whom secretary Clinton was in regular contact from her personal account.”

Yet, although characterizing the investigation findings as showing that Clinton and her team were "extremely careless" he said there was no clear evidence they intended to violate the law.

All of which means, that although the evidence clearly establishes that she’s guilty of major violations, the FBI’s walking away from the case as ordered.

Trump immediately summed it up this way: “The system is rigged. General Petraeus got in trouble for far less. Very very unfair! As usual, bad judgment.”

What can also now be added to Trump’s growing anti-Clinton arsenal is a report yesterday from Rystad Energy that “estimates recoverable oil in the U.S. from existing fields, discoveries and yet undiscovered areas amounts to 264bn barrels. The figure surpasses Saudi Arabia’s 212bn and Russia’s 256bn in reserves.

“The analysis of 60,000 fields worldwide, conducted over a three-year period by the Oslo-based group, shows total global oil reserves at 2.1tn barrels. This is 70 times the current production rate of about 30bn barrels of crude oil a year.”

What’s of most importance here is that while the US economy has struggled under the burdens placed by the current administration, much of the cause stems from an irrational environmental program that has curbed domestic oil production.

Yet, according to the AAA, consumers saved over $115 billion in gas last year due to falling oil prices. All of those dollars, naturally, become available for spending on other things that stimulate business and help grow the economy.

In that regard, the Wall Street Journal’s national economics correspondent Josh Zumbrun says: “The bottom line is that lower prices boost GDP [Gross Domestic Product] and consumer spending but lowers overall inflation pretty dramatically. If prices are this low for the next year it will be a pretty big boost to consumers.”

In summary, the concept of the benefits of lower costs at the pump should be quite simple for Trump to convey. Because everyone in the nation, even ardent leftists, understand how much better off they are when they have more money to spend on whatever it is they choose instead of overpriced fuel.

Which brings us to today’s update on Bill Clinton’s wife.

Jim Hoft @thegatewaypundit.com, writes about a “Stunning Final Analysis,” which shows the GOP primary turnout up 62% this year while the Democrat turnout fell by 21%.

Mr. Hoft writes: “Despite her tight race with Socialist Bernie Sanders Hillary Clinton received 1,019,237 fewer votes this year than in 2008.

“In 2008 there were 38,111,341 Democrat votes in the primary. In 2016 there were 29,939,251 votes. A net decrease of 8,172,090 (-21%).

In 2012 there were 19,214,513 Republican votes in the primary. In 2016 there were 31,108,968 votes. A net increase of 11,894,455 (+62%).

In all, Republicans had 1.1 million more primary voters this year than the Democratic party which Mr. Hoft describes by writing: “These are stunning numbers!”

All of which implies that while the FBI may acquiesce to pressure from above, to the extent that an apparent lawbreaker will go unpunished for what she’s done, voters have a different mindset altogether. Because, not only are Republicans setting records in turnout at the polls, by staying home Democrats are clearly indicating they don’t want her as POTUS either.

Raising the ongoing question again: Joe Biden, Jerry Brown, and Starbucks chairman and CEO, Howard Schultz; are  you guys reading this?

That’s it for today folks.

Adios
