BloggeRhythms

Failing miserably on every major issue concerning the nation, the incumbent’s falling back on a favorite standby; non-existent climate change.

A headline on Fox News on-line this morning reads; “Administration issues dire climate change report, amid regulatory push.”

However, it doesn't seem to really matter to the public very much at all whereas as Rebecca Rifkin of Gallup Polls reported in March, “U.S. concerns with the quality of the environment dropped in 2014.”

Back then Ms Rifkin wrote: “Twenty-eight U.S. senators held an all-night "talkathon" Monday to call attention to climate change, an issue that only 24% of Americans say they worry about a great deal. This puts climate change, along with the quality of the environment, near the bottom of a list of 15 issues Americans rated in Gallup's March 6-9 survey. The economy, federal spending, and healthcare dominate American’s worries.”

As far as statistics are concerned, Gallup lists them this way in importance to voters: the economy at 59%, federal spending 58%, and healthcare 57% dominate the list while the only category lower than global warming is race relations at 17%.

So, when you look at the numbers it becomes obvious as to why the incumbent’s reduced to promoting a topic 76% percent of the public doesn’t even care about, not even half of his base. Because, since everything he touches turns for the worse, the less people having interest in the topic, the fewer become aware of his mistakes.

Then staying with the subject of mistakes, Jennifer Robison of the Las Vegas Review Journal wrote an article titled: “Local business owners might be hoping the Affordable Care Act’s insurance mandates cover sticker shock.”

In her write-up Ms Robison notes that, “The law’s employer coverage mandate doesn’t take effect until 2015, but early plan renewals are starting to roll in. And for some businesses, the premium jumps are positively painful.”

She goes on: “Local insurance brokers are reporting spikes ranging from 35 percent to 120 percent on policies that renew from July to December. The increases are especially acute among employers with workforces made up of younger, healthier men. That’s because Obamacare prohibits offering lower rates to healthier groups. It also narrows the allowed premium gap between older and younger enrollees.

The changes put as many as 90,000 policies across Nevada at risk of cancellation or nonrenewal this fall, said Las Vegas insurance broker William Wright, president of Chamber Insurance and Benefits. That’s more than three times the 25,000 enrollees affected in October, when Obamacare-compliant plans first hit the market.”

So, after reading about the damage done to so many it becomes far clearer as to why Harry Reid spends so much time in DC, babbling gibberish about the Koch brothers he despises. But, in reality he ought to thank them profusely. Because without the straw men he uses as targets, he might actually have to face his constituents and face their ire regarding the colossal financial harm the health care tax is doing to them in his own state.

That’s it for today folks

Adios
