BloggeRhythms

A friend posted this photo on Facebook this morning, from a gas station in Massachusetts.

After seeing the prices, and then checking the U.S. Energy Information Administration website, it’s found that “In 2013, about 134.51 billion gallons (or 3.20 billion barrels) of gasoline were consumed in the United States, a daily average of about 368.51 million gallons (or 8.77 million barrels). This was about 6% less than the record high of about 142.35 billion gallons (or 3.39 billion barrels) consumed in 2007.”

The same administration also reports that as of June 30, 2014, prices for regular gasoline is 3.704 per gallon, equaling an $1.864 increase in cost.

Therefore, if gasoline consumption stays the same this year as last, approximately $249 billion in additional fuel cost will be spent by consumers simply to appease environmentalists. And that’s only for one year, although gas prices have been continually higher since the incumbent took office.

Now, there are many other reasons for the nation’s poor economic performance. Almost all of them stemming from the administration's anti-business postures.

However, today’s particular case shows that gas prices have doubled as a result of inhibiting the nation’s use of its own natural resources, relying greatly on imported oil. Thus we see a glaring example of one of the major reasons why the nation’s financial condition keeps deteriorating while the whole U.S. economy shrank at a 2.9 percent annual rate in in the first quarter just past.

That’s it for today folks.

Adios
