United States foreign policy has gone so far backward under the current administration, its almost impossible to believe how low it has sunk.

After declaring many months ago that Iran’s nuclear weapons program had been stopped, the Associated Press reports today that “Secretary of State John Kerry will hold in-depth discussions Monday with Iran's top diplomat in a bid to advance faltering nuclear negotiations, with a deadline just days away for a comprehensive agreement.”

The talks are needed because “Kerry and the foreign ministers of Britain, France and Germany failed to reach a breakthrough on uranium enrichment and other issues standing in the way of a deal that would curb Iran's nuclear program in exchange for the end of nuclear-related sanctions on Tehran.”

Furthermore, Kerry's second day of talks will continue his efforts to gauge "Iran's willingness to make the critical choices it needs to make," according to a senior State Department official.”
What’s most incredible though is that “[s]ix months ago, the six world powers and Tehran gave themselves until July 20 to conclude what is supposed to be a multi-decade agreement that sets clear limits on Iranian activity and locks in place an international monitoring regime designed to ensure that the Islamic republic cannot develop nuclear weapons.”

Nonetheless, today Iran still holds the cards and it seems rather obvious that they not only have no intention of ceasing nuclear weapon development, but also realize that there will be no reprisal from the U.S. at all.

Iran, though, isn’t the only massive mistake the nation’s made in the region.

Josh Rogin, senior correspondent for national security and politics for The Daily Beast reports that: “John Kerry wants to broker a deal to stop the violence between Israel and Hamas. But officials and experts on both sides are warning he could do more harm than good.

The Israelis and the Palestinians are resisting Secretary of State John Kerry’s repeated offers to travel to the Middle East and try to help negotiate a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. Experts on both sides believe he doesn’t have the credibility or ability to do any good if he shows up there.”

Therefore, as far as “brokering” agreements goes, it’s doubtful that one could find a more glaring example of uselessness and ineptitude, whereas neither party even wants to allow Kerry into their country at all.

John Kerry, however, isn’t the only big name Democrat having credibility problems.

AlGore sat down with the BBC's Jon Donnison in Australia, where his Climate Reality Project, was holding training sessions to educate future leaders in the fight against climate change.

Gore said, “We're way past time where it's responsible for any national leader to reject the science behind the climate crisis."

And then, “Eight years after he released the film An Inconvenient Truth, Mr. Gore said we have come a long way in awareness of global warming, but there is still much more to be done to find solutions.

While Gore was promoting his warming mantra, however, Chris McMahon and Sharmee Rawson of Australia’s Courier Mail write: “If you are lucky enough to be reading this from the comfort of your blankets, it might be best to stay there, as Brisbane has hit its coldest temperatures in 103 years.

Not since July 28 1911 has Brisbane felt this cold, getting down to a brisk 2.6C at 6.41am.

Matt Bass, meteorologist from BOM, said the region was well below our average temperatures.
“If it felt cold, that’s because it was, breaking that record is pretty phenomenal for Brisbane,” Bass said.

“The average for this time of year is 12C, so Brisbane was about 9C below average, it is pretty impressive really, to have the coldest morning in 103 years is a big record.”

And if that isn’t enough, other places are freezing too.

Eric Worrall WUWT via Drudge reports that: “Antarctica continues to defy the global warming script, with a report from Meteo France, that June this year was the coldest Antarctic June ever recorded, at the French Antarctic Dumont d’Urville Station.

According to the press release, during June this year, the average temperature was -22.4c (-8.3F), 6.6c (11.9F) lower than normal. This is the coldest June ever recorded at the station, and almost the coldest monthly average ever – only September 1953 was colder, with a recorded average temperature of -23.5c (-10.3F).

June this year also broke the June daily minimum temperature record, with a new record low of -34.9c (-30.8F).”

Consequently, as far as needing  “solutions” goes, AlGore may be absolutely correct. However, what he really needs even more is a new problem to promote. Because global warming hasn’t existed for the past seventeen years, and is certainly not seen anywhere on the planet now.

That’s it for today folks.

Adios
