BloggeRhythms 12/8/2013

I sometimes have to read news items several times, very slowly to be certain I’ve understood what’s been written. This happened again today regarding an article from The Marietta Daily Journal found on Drudge, as follows:

“A judge said Thursday that he needs more information and time to decide the case of a group of young people who were brought to the U.S. illegally as children and want the Georgia university system to grant them in-state tuition.

The roughly three dozen young immigrants have been granted temporary permission to stay in the U.S. under an Obama administration policy introduced last year. They filed a lawsuit in August asking a judge to instruct the university system’s Board of Regents to allow them to qualify for in-state tuition.”

So, here we have people residing in the nation illegally that not only have no right to be here,  but thanks to the administration have beaten the system to the extent that they feel they can sue for even more accommodation. At the same time, though, if tax-paying citizens don’t pay the new healthcare tax, they face fines, wage garnishment and perhaps, other penalties likely hidden in the overbearing new legislation. And there's something very wrong with that.

As far as the illegal’s lawsuit’s concerned, however, it’s remindful of the young man who shot both his parents, then begged for the mercy of the court because he was now an orphan.

Then another item caught my eye, also on Drudge, by Matthew Young, of Britain’s Daily Star Sunday, headed: “Climate change warning: Killer winter storms for next THIRTY years.”

The basic theme of the short item begins with: “KILLER freezes, floods and heatwaves will devastate Britain during the next 30 years, climate experts have warned.”

I mention this one because one of the reader’s comments following the text says: “The world warms up, it cools down and this is a result of our orbit, which is not constant. The wobble which makes the earth move closer and further from the sun affects our climate. This is evident from the fact that the earth has gone through warm periods and ice ages. Or are they going to say we affected the weather millions of years before humans even walked on the earth? Only people without an education actually believe this man made climate change garbage.”

Since that’s one of the best short explanations of the subject I’ve seen for some time, there’s really nothing to add.

That’s it for today folks.

Adios
