The way things stand at present looks quite good for the citizenry of the U.S.. There seems to be great dissatisfaction with incumbents everywhere in the country, and lately Republicans have done quite well running for Congress and capturing governorships. That bodes well for their likely gaining control of the Senate and probably keeping the House next time around.

When you couple that likelihood with the factor that they have no electable presidential candidate at the moment, and don't seem to have one in the wings, that will lead to the president's re-election. So, that means governmental gridlock next time around.

As far as the public goes, gridlock's the best thing for them. Because then, neither side can get any legislation passed. Consequently, further socialization of the nation will cease, private matters amongst citizens will stay private and the nation can run unencumbered. Everyone did pretty well under Clinton who accomplished zip as far as his agenda was concerned because he was stymied by Congress.

So, I guess all we have to do is hope that both parties stay their course and that Republicans keep shooting themselves in the foot by mucking their agenda up with social issues that will sink them presidentially. I just wish the election was tomorrow, because I'm getting really tired of wasting my time writing about this stuff.

That's it for today folks.

Adios
