BloggeRhythms 6/4/2011

This week's economic news delivered a huge negative blow to the administration, further illustrating that it's goals and ideals are anti-capitalistic and anti-business. It's also leading to thoughts of a possible double-dip recession. However, that is not a revelation, because the socialist tendencies of the president were quite well known prior to the election. Consequently, those who voted in his favor should certainly expect their assets to disappear.

But, there's a considerable portion of the voting population who feel differently and want to see change, and they're being rapidly joined by many who feel that last time they made a mistake. And that spells significant opportunity for the opposition.

The only problem is, the Republican party doesn't seem to understand how to fix the nation's ills either. Because although its obvious to anyone capable of rational thought that unless the economic tide is reversed, there'll be nothing left of the nation to preside over, current candidates are allowing the major issues to muddy.

Instead of focusing diligently on the key factors of employment, real estate values, taxes, trade, and education they're permitting personal ideologies such as religion, abortion, prayer in school and gay rights share the spotlight. However, while all of these personal preferences are important, they're none of the government's business to begin with. Even the founding fathers long ago saw the need to separate church and state.

So, while we have a perfect example in government right now where ideology can sink a nation by marching to its tenets instead of economic sense, I think those who want to see a return to stability better wake up and get together, regardless. Because if they don't, there may not be a next time, no matter anyone's religion or beliefs.

That's it for today folks.

Adios
