The media seems to be beside itself, grasping desperately at straws, trying to claim the Republican party’s imploding due to Kevin McCarthy’s withdrawal from the race for the House Speaker’s post.

However, what actually transpired was McCarthy committed an unrepairable gaffe, by suggesting that the Benghazi investigation in Congress is purely political in nature. As a result, Bill Clinton’s wife was handed a weapon to both evade her responsibilities for her Benghazi errors, as well as a tool to be used against Republicans in her weakening campaign for the presidency.

Thus, since those repercussions would loom continually were McCarthy to attain the Speaker’s role, he did what was appropriate, resigning from contention for the office.

As far as his replacement’s concerned, there are many viable candidates, which means that the media, along with Bill’s wife, will have to find another straw to grasp. Because this one’s quickly going to be gone. Even if John Boehner has to do it himself, by staying in power.

On another topic, Condoleezza Rice, Secretary of State from 2005 to 2009 and Dr. Robert M. Gates, Defense Secretary from 2006 to 2011, co-authored an article @washingtonpost.com, titled: “How America can counter Putin’s moves in Syria”

What’s most interesting in this case is that, Gates was the only Secretary of Defense in U.S. history to be asked to remain in that office by a newly elected President, Barack Obama, who was the eighth president Dr. Gates served.

So, here we have two prominent Secretary’s of State, one a Republican and the other who served for five years in the present Democrat administration, both agreeing that current presidential foreign policy’s do not work.

As far as the team of defense secretary's idea’s are concerned, they suggest that: “First, we must reject the argument that Putin is simply reacting to world disorder. Putin is indeed reacting to circumstances in the Middle East. He sees a vacuum created by our hesitancy to fully engage in places such as Libya and to stay the course in Iraq.

“Second, we have to create our own facts on the ground. No-fly zones and safe harbors for populations are not “half-baked” ideas. They worked before (protecting the Kurds for 12 years under Saddam Hussein’s reign of terror) and warrant serious consideration.

“A serious commitment to these steps would also solidify our relationship with Turkey, which is reeling from the implications of Moscow’s intervention. In short, we must create a better military balance of power on the ground if we are to seek a political solution acceptable to us and to our allies.

“Third, we must “de-conflict” our military activities with those of the Russians. This is distasteful, and we should never have gotten to a place where the Russians are warning us to stay out of their way. But we must do all that we can to prevent an incident between us. Presumably, even Putin shares this concern.”

The secretary's conclude by agreeing that, “Finally, we need to see Putin for who he is. Stop saying that we want to better understand Russian motives. The Russians know their objective very well: Secure their interests in the Middle East by any means necessary. What’s not clear about that?”

Meaning that, in other words, they’ve made clear that in their joint opinion that Obama, and those around him, have no idea whatsoever as to what they’re doing in regard to the Middle-East.

Which brings us to today’s update on Bill Clinton’s wife.

Reuter’s Alana Wise via yahoo.com, writes that “Just days before she will take the stage in the first Democratic debate, Hillary Clinton's lead over rival Bernie Sanders has narrowed, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll.

“Clinton's support among Democratic voters fell 10 points within less than a week.

“From October 4 to October 9, Clinton saw her support tumble from 51 percent of Democratic support to just 41 percent.”

As far as her competitors are concerned, Bernie Sanders and Joe Biden, who has yet to decide whether he will run, both made gains. “Sanders jumped from just over 24 percent to 28 percent, and Biden rose from 16 percent to an even 20 percent in the same time period.”

So, here we have a continuing case of watching Bill’s wife self-destructing again. To the extent that one of those gaining on her rapidly isn’t even in the race yet. Which leads to the ongoing question: Joe Biden, Mayor Bloomberg, Jerry Brown, and Starbuck’s chairman and CEO, Howard Schultz, are you reading this?

That’s it for today folks.

Adios
