Most of today’s headlines concern the terrorist attack in France, many of them pure speculation regarding what actually took place and who was responsible. Therefore, until more facts are know, there’s no need to add another opinion.

Instead, something else to note was a short column on FoxNews.com from the Washington Free Beacon by Bill McMorris, titled: “Warren criticizes Clinton record at union summit.”

Mr. McMorris writes that, “Insurgent progressive potential presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren took aim at the Clinton legacy during a major labor summit on Wednesday.

“The Massachusetts senator slammed the deregulation of Wall Street under former President Bill Clinton’s watch and dismissed his contention that the “era of big government” was over, according to video obtained by America Rising.”

Warren went on to slam politicians in general by saying, “Pretty much the whole Republican Party, and if we’re going to be honest too many Dems, have talked about the evils of Big Government and called for deregulation.”

But she then focused on Clinton specifically by telling the AFL-CIO auduence that he “oversaw the repeal of the core of the Glass-Steagall Act, allowing financial institutions to operate as investment, insurance, and commercial banking operations, blaming the withdrawal of such financial regulations for the 2008 market crash and economic recession.”

What’s important about the senator’s pointed criticism isn’t so much the subject of her remarks, Glass-Steagall, but the fact that she’s sounding more like a potential presidential candidate. Because, anyone aware of what happened in 2008 understands that Bill’s wife does wonderfully when unchallenged. But throw anyone else in the ring, even an unknown, low-profile senator from Illinois, and she folds in a heartbeat.

Which means that if the Republicans can get out of their own way and get something positive done in DC for once, 2016 looks very good for them presidentially. Because Warren is no competition for them at all.

That’s it for today folks.

Adios
