BloggeRhythms

After six agonizing years, sitting back powerless whereas Democrats controlled the presidency and Senate, Republicans have finally gained majorities in both houses of Congress. However, although the legislative takeover hasn’t even begun yet, their party has begun the process of tearing itself apart once more.

On Saturday, Kentucky Representative, Thomas Massie became the second Republican to publicly oppose John Boehner for re-election as speaker of the House. He released a statement, listing four grievances with the Ohio Republican and other GOP House leaders.

Massie’s announcement comes a day after Oklahoma Rep. Jim Bridenstine publicly opposed Boehner as part of a mounting effort to prevent Boehner from winning a majority vote.

Then today, Republican Rep. Louie Gohmert told Fox New’s Tucker Carlson, he’s declared his candidacy for Speaker of the House of Representatives against John Boehner. Gohmert said, “After the November elections gave Republicans control of the Senate, voters made clear they wanted change.”

So, Republicans will likely wind up splintering their party once again, permitting Democrats easy wins two years from now, even though most voters don’t favor them. Yet, for some reason, so-called “Conservatives” can’t seem to grasp the most basic elements of retaining power they’ve gained. Preferring to let hard-line ideals override common-sensical, practical and gradual steps to instilling their political platforms.

And what’s even more ridiculous is that, if they shred their party far enough, where clear majority’s aren’t possible, despite their recent wins at the polls, they'll wind up with Democrat Nancy Pelosi as Speaker of the House again.

That's it for today folks.

Adios
