BloggeRhythms

Today’s entry is the 1601st, which means that this site has been operating for just under 4 1/2 years. The reason for mentioning the number, is that it’s important to note how each daily posting is put together. And in that regard, the basis is to review news items and current events, commenting on them as they occur with no particular agenda; political, personal or otherwise.

Therefore, today’s first item’s important because it reflects conclusions presented here frequently, yet are only now being realized by significant segments of the nation’s population.

For example, it doesn't really require much intellect to grasp the fact that on almost every issue critical to the U.S., the incumbent’s ideology, goals and philosophy run contra to not only the nation’s well-being, but are wreaking huge damage to almost the entire citizenry.

But, however, it appears that the general public is finally waking up to the significant mismanagement taking place across the board and are now voicing their displeasure.

An NBC/WSJ poll released today shows that, “Six in 10 Americans are dissatisfied with the state of the U.S. economy, more than 70 percent believe the country is headed in the wrong direction, and nearly 80 percent are down on the country’s political system.”

A closer look reveals that, “Sixty percent of respondents said the U.S. is in decline, only 35 percent were satisfied with America’s role in the world, and just 21 percent said that the next generation would be better off.”

It also should come as no surprise, considering the colossal mistakes and misjudgments in foreign policy, that “Overall, just 36 percent of respondents approved of Obama’s handling of foreign policy, 12 points lower than ahead of the 2010 vote.”

Therefore, while 64% of those polled believe an extremely poor job’s being done in total, policy-wise, the specifics indicate that, “Respondents offered a negative assessment of the U.S. response to the Ukrainian war, the Syrian civil war, the conflict in Gaza, the rise of ISIS and especially the flow of illegal immigrant minors across the southern border.”

Furthermore, as far as the incumbent’s most recent threat to personally see that his objectives are met in protecting illegal aliens, “Just 11 percent were satisfied with the handling of the border crisis,” of those polled.

In all, “The president’s job approval, now at an all-time low of 40 percent in this poll, is 7 points lower than it was four years ago.”

Which brings us back to the point of today’s entry. Because, as stated above, it doesn’t take any kind of special talent to predict a future outcome if one simply applies some logic and a significant amount of common sense.

However, one has to wonder exactly how incompetent and wrong-headed someone has to be to continually pursue and insist on forcing policy and legislation that makes absolutely no sense to begin with. And , I suppose, that’s what voters are coming to grips with now.

Then, in another example of the results of inept and illogical decision-making, Barnini Chakraborty of FoxNews.com writes this about the incumbent’s healthcare tax, “According to the Kaiser Family Foundation, 85 percent of those who applied were considered eligible for some type of financial aid, which comes out to about $10 billion in subsidies in the first year.”

Furthermore, “The scramble to verify eligibility comes on the heels of a Government Accountability Office report that raised fresh doubt about the ability of the health care program to prevent or intercept costly fraud schemes.

Government investigators posing as fake applicants were able to go online, purchase health plans using fake documents and set themselves up to receive undeserved federal subsidies.

Eleven of the 12 fictitious applicants were able to dupe the system using invalid Social Security numbers as well as inaccurate citizenship information, according to the report. The 11 were given the go-ahead to receive $30,000-a-year in health care credits and subsidies.”

While the ease and simplicity of duping the government 11 out of 12 times comes as no surprise, whereas government is composed of incredibly incompetent personnel, another aspect of the Fox article is even more disturbing.

Although the program was supposedly designed to work like most socialized systems do, where those having incomes and assets carry those who haven’t on their backs, this abomination of a tax doesn’t even do that. Whereas, 85% of those signing up qualify for some kind of financial aid, that means just 15% of those in the program are supporting the rest.

Furthermore, the statistics are almost the exact reverse of what the United States Census Bureau found in 2012, where 48.0 million people in the US (15.4% of the population) were without health insurance then.

Therefore, if the numbers are accurate, insuring those without is costing taxpayer’s $10 billion per annum just to start, while government's proving itself incapable of managing the healthcare tax in any aspect at all.

That’s it for today folks.

Adios
