BloggeRhythms

The original thought, when starting these entry’s several years ago, was to find interesting items to comment upon which in turn would hopefully promote interest in my fiction books.

Over time, it turned out that the predominance of news coverage centered around the administration because so much of what goes on in the nation every day, and around the world, is greatly affected by the actions and performance of that entity.

Consequently, for quite a long time now, it seems I’ve been forced to become extremely familiar with most of the things the administration does, making me acutely aware of how far the nation’s sunk in the last five years. And now that its reached a point where there's not very much left to ruin, whereas practically every aspect of governance is at its nadir, the incumbent's still found another way to unilaterally make things worse for most people.

This morning he introduced a plan to reduce carbon emissions 30 percent by 2030, compared with 2005 levels. According to Fox News on-line “The proposal sets off a complex regulatory process in which the 50 states will each determine how to meet customized targets set by the EPA.”

In response, “Republican Party Chairman  Reince Priebus said in a statement. "The U.S. Chamber of Commerce has found that each year this regulation will kill 224,000 jobs and force energy rates to skyrocket, so it's no wonder President Obama is circumventing Congress to implement his latest job-killing regulation."

The Chamber also released a study that finds the rule will impose $50 billion in annual costs.

However, there’s a bright side in the proposal, presenting some hope because: “States could have until 2017 to submit a plan to cut power plant pollution, and 2018 if they join with other states to tackle the problem, according to the EPA's proposal.”

And what that means is, if the voting public wakes up and elects a Republican president in 2016, the proposal will likely be repealed and the EPA will be severely restricted from critically harming the economy and nation itself any further.

That’s it for today folks.

Adios
