The POTUS delivered an uplifting, inspirational speech yesterday to the graduates at Liberty University where Jerry Falwell, Jr. is president.

Several excerpts from the address were selected by Eli Stokols @wsj.com who wrote: “In his first commencement speech as president, he “aligned himself with the conservative, evangelical school’s graduating class as “outsiders.”

Identifying with his audience, while taking his leftist opposition into account, Trump said: “Nothing is easier or more pathetic than being a critic. They’re people who can’t get the job done. The future belongs to the dreamers, not to the critics.”

“You aren’t going to let other people tell you what to believe, especially when you know that you’re right,” the president said. “We don’t need a lecture from Washington on how to lead our lives.”

Readers responded along party lines, with the following two samples representing most others.

Michael Burns wrote: "We have a lot of low information voters. Trump is a great Con Man.”

Frank Frandsen came back with:

“The alternative?

“The Clinton's..... Lies, corruption, treason, murder, destruction. It's what they do.

“ It's all they do.

“Criminals, Socialists/Marxists/Etceterists, and foreign thugs love them for it, and enrich them accordingly.”

Then on Saturday evening in an interview with Jeanine Pirro on "Justice With Judge Jeanine," Trump made clear to those who paid attention to his responses that’s he’s acutely aware of just about everything that transpires around him.

One of his most insightful observations concerned how the mainstream media seems intensely focused on catching him, or his representatives such as press people Sarah Huckabee Sanders and Sean Spicer, in an inconsistency, error or misstatement. Part of that problem, he said, arises from the way he operates, which is very quickly and efficiently.

And, as a result of his working speed, when a roomful of hostile newshounds pepper his press corps with rapid-fire query’s about quickly-changing issues, they’re not always aware of what his immediate thoughts are. To which he has a brilliant solution he’s considering, which would require newspeople to submit questions directly to him on paper. Then he, in turn, would respond specifically in kind, leaving nothing to conjecture on their part while also eliminating any misquotes or misinterpretations from he himself.

When Ms. Pirro mentioned that the MSM most often ignores what his administration's accomplished to date, he replied: “What I’m most proud about is what’s happening with the country. You look at jobs are way up. It’s going to be unbelievable the trade deals we’re making for this country. We have the worst trade deals ever made by any country anywhere and we’re making them into great deals. The business that we’re now reopening with China that’s been gone for many, many years, especially when you look at natural gas, and especially when you look at the deal we just made on cattle. It’s really something special.”

And then, he addressed opposition from the Democrats, saying: “Well, they’re obstructionists. I mean what they want to do is obstruct and delay, and I’m actually very surprised with Chuck Schumer because I know him; I’ve known him for a long time. I cannot — I really am surprised that he’s become such — he’s gone so far left in order to get into the Elizabeth Warren group that I think he’s hurting himself.”

Then the president added, “And I also don’t think they can win any more elections unless they start changing their tune.”

All of which confirms much of what’s been written here quite often before. That while the left and their supportive MSM, continue their efforts to question the election results, belittle and demean his efforts, Trump believes everyday Americans can see the successes of his administration. And in that regard, the growth of alternative news outlets is proving he’s most likely correct about that too.

As far as the left MSM is concerned, Jeff Poor wrote @breitbart.com that: “Friday on “CBS This Morning,” long-time CBS News personality Bob Schieffer reacted to President Donald Trump’s decision to fire FBI Director James Comey earlier this week.

“While many have made comparisons to Trump’s handling of Comey to Watergate, Schieffer said he saw “parallels” to the 1963 assassination of President John F. Kennedy.

“You know, there are many parallels Watergate,” Schieffer explained. “But I have to tell you, I think all the way back to the Kennedy assassination, to draw parallels. I was there, as you know. I have always felt that if Lee Harvey Oswald had been put on trial, a lot of these conspiracy theories that are still circulating today would have been put at rest then. It is absolutely imperative that Donald Trump finds a way to reassure the American people that these questions about Russia are not true if that is his version. He’s got to lay it all out and find ways not just to tweet out every morning the news is being made up by the news media.”

“He’s got to show some proof,” he continued. “He has got to give them some reason to believe that these things are not true. Frankly, unless he is able to do this, this is going to dog his presidency for the rest of his term. Look at what’s happened in Washington right now. It’s come to a complete stop while the country and Washington tries to digest the firing of James Comey. Putting this to rest is not going to be helped by firing the guy who was doing the investigation. Sending these people out to explain the inexplicable is not going to help. He’s making fools of his own staff. The White House appears to be in chaos. It is the original amateur hour as we look at it from the outside. He’s got a lot of work to do, and so far what he has done has not helped in my view.”

While Schieffer sounds more like a political campaign manager than a newscaster, his premise supports the theory that the left is continuing to follow Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals.

Rule 11 says: "If you push a negative hard enough, it will push through and become a positive." Violence from the other side can win the public to your side because the public sympathizes with the underdog."

Rule 12 says: "Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it." Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy. Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions.”

However, despite the leftist MSM's persistent efforts against him, Trump’s contention that “everyday Americans can see the successes of his administration,” is confirmed by many readers thoughts.

Redstone commented: “Time for Schieffer to retire. How do you prove a negative? He wants Trump to prove "these things" are not true. What things? They haven't come up with a shred of evidence against Trump. Oh, and BTW, I seem to remember some concept in this country where you're innocent until proven guilty. Honestly, these talking heads don't have two brain cells to rub together.”

187 others agreed with Redstone.

Bill replied: “I could not agree with you more...but all this noise from all these talking heads will hurt...how much remains to be seen. Truth does not matter.”

57 more agreed with him.

That’s it for today folks.

Adios
