BloggeRhythms

Haven’t mentioned the Chris Christie traffic story because I didn't consider it worth the keystrokes, but the media doesn't seem to want to let it go.

As far as the closure of traffic lanes to punish a political enemy goes, however, I wonder why that particular area was chosen. I’ve travelled the GW bridge countless times over many, many years and have never seen it without major traffic jam-ups. Consequently, unless someone went to the press to point out the political plot, I doubt any experienced drivers would even notice the delay as being out of the ordinary.

What also intrigues me are those who think the traffic tie-up  will damage Christie’s presidential hopes, because they claim he deceived the public by denying knowledge of the situation. But, if they truly believe that responsibility rises to the top regardless, how they can possibly justify the incumbent’s remaining in office.

In the governor’s case, highway lanes were closed which he knew nothing about, but is still at fault and, according to detractors, should be precluded from running for higher office.

But, how does that compare to the following partial list compiled by Mark Landsbaum of the Orange County Register on-line, of things the president claims to have been unaware of before they occurred: "The NSA spying scandal, domestic and foreign; multiple warnings about the Obamacare website disaster prior to its launch; IRS targeting his political opponents; millions who will lose their health plans and doctors despite his promise otherwise; Department of Justice spying on journalists; the flawed security at Benghazi; ATF running guns to Mexico. Finally, and perhaps the one destined to generate the most backlash, that Obamacare will result in tens of millions of insured Americans losing their current plans and being forced to replace them with policies costing exorbitantly more."

So, its my guess that if Dem’s really want to pursue the Christie issue, it will result in a huge negative backlash on them. Which means, if you look at their record, there’s no doubt they’ll keep moving ahead on the topic.

In the meantime, according to Fox News on-line: “The House has passed a bill that would impose new security requirements on the Obama administration's implementation of the health care law.

Democrats say the bill is designed to scare Americans from enrolling for coverage.

The administration opposes the bill, which stands no chance in the Democratic-led Senate.”

Thus, here we have another case where politics override common-sense and simple, every-day logic. Because its practically a sure thing that security will be breached again, hacking’s becoming more sophisticated continually. Target's a perfect example. But rather than give Republican’s any kind of credit, Dem’s chose to paint themselves into a corner again.

Along the same lines, I wonder what Susan Rice will say if she ever faces the press again. Because today, also according to Fox, “The State Department on Friday for the first time blamed specific groups and militants for the 2012 Benghazi attack, designating them as terrorists -- a move that further undermines initial claims the attack was spontaneous.”

Therefore, like everything else the bungling administration attempts to deny, distort or alter, sooner or later facts eventually surface. And when they do in the Benghazi case, hopefully the incumbent will follow Governor Christie's example and fire the incompetents like Ms Rice, and then point out his former Secretary of State, Hillary, as another lying disgrace.

That’s it for today folks.

Adios
