BloggeRhythms 7/1/2013

Yesterday, I mentioned Charles Schumer’s imbecilic prediction that “the House ultimately will pass the Senate's comprehensive immigration bill -- despite House Speaker John Boehner's claims to the contrary.”

And as I expected, according to Fox News.com, it took only a few minutes for ”House Republicans to insist that they plan to change key elements of the Senate-passed immigration bill, signaling a protracted and rocky battle ahead despite one Democrat's pronouncement that in the end the House will cave and pass the Senate bill anyway.”

On the Republican side, Representative Bob Goodlatte, Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee who plays a major role in the chamber's consideration of immigration policy “addressed what is perhaps at the heart of the impasse. The House cannot agree to a path to citizenship for illegal immigrants.” What he wants instead is a "pathway to legalization, that allows some illegal immigrants a chance at a green card at best, but not full-fledged citizenship."

Schumer however, told "Fox News Sunday "that if Republicans strip the pathway to citizenship, "no Democrat" would support it.

And that’s the part that seems so far out in left field to me, even for Dem’s who are generally so obtusively illogical. Because I will never understand why it’s so important to them to be certain that illegal aliens, who break our laws the moment they get here, are granted a way to citizenship. The premise is totally irrational. Which leads me to ask if Dem’s have as little regard for our whole Constitution and all the rest of our laws, because by their verbiage and actions, I’d have to believe so.

But, then again, this is the party once led by an impeached liar who they still respect and adore, so I’d have to believe that for Dem’s in general, the bigger lawbreaker and criminal lowlife you are, the more they support you. Which I guess is why the nation is presently going backward in all ways, as they continue to undo all the good done before.

Which brings me to the subject of  political theory, and as clear an example of socialism as I’ve ever seen.

Louise Radnofsky of The Wall Street Journal on-line, writes that, “Healthy consumers could see insurance rates double or even triple when they look for individual coverage under the federal health law later this year, while the premiums paid by sicker people are set to become more affordable,” according to her publication’s analysis of coverage to be sold on the law's new exchanges.

She further explains that, “The exchanges, the centerpiece of President Barack Obama's health-care law, look likely to offer few if any of the cut-rate policies that healthy people can now buy, according to the Journal's analysis. At the same time, the top prices look to be within reach for many people who previously faced sky-high premiums because of chronic illnesses or who couldn't buy insurance at all.”

So, here we have a classic case of the young and healthy, most of whom  at present likely need little to no real coverage at all, paying the costly freight for the sick, the elderly, or totally uninsured.

But than again, if the object of socialism is for the have’s to cover the costs of the have not's, how much would healthcare insurance costs reduce if the incumbent chipped in the $100 million wasted on his African vacation and what VP Biden blew by spending $585,000 for one night at the Hotel Intercontinental Paris Le Grand and $459,000 for a night at the Hyatt Regency London the Churchill Hotel. (Plus $321,000 for a limousine company, although Biden's own limousine is flown over for such trips.)

Now, although I fully realize that for Dem’s, all talk and no action is their stock and trade, even a card-carrying dunce like Schumer ought to realize that one of the oldest adages remains unequivocally true. A penny saved is a penny earned.

So, before he starts demanding citizenship for illegals having absolutely no right to be here at all, he ought to focus on fixing problems right here at home, like overturning outrageous new health care taxes and the incredibly wasteful spending done by his cohorts continually. But, that would amount to good governing, something almost all Dem’s have never understood, cared about or been able to do.

That’s it for today folks.

Adios
