BloggeRhythms

An AP article on politico yesterday, via Drudge, had me laughing out loud, although the subject is as serious as it can get.

“Speaking to Israel’s Channel 10 television, [John] Kerry said the deal wouldn’t affect American options to counter any possible effort by Iran to build atomic weapons.

“I say to every Israeli that today we have the ability to stop them if they decided to move quickly to a bomb and I absolutely guarantee that in the future we will have the ability to know what they are doing so that we can still stop them if they decided to move to a bomb,” Kerry said.”

On the other hand, “[Prime Minister] Netanyahu believes the potential deal leaves intact too much of Iran’s contested nuclear program, including research facilities and advanced centrifuges capable of enriching uranium, a key ingredient in building an atomic bomb.”

Kerry went on to promise, “We will have inspectors in there every single day,”

Reading Kerry’s promise caused me to search the web to refresh my memory of his veracity in the past. That led to an article by Joshua Muravchik in washingtonpost.com from August 24, 2004, titled: ‘Kerry's Cambodia Whopper”

Mr. Muravchik is a resident scholar at the American Enterprise Institute, who quoted Kerry saying when running for the presidency himself: “I remember Christmas of 1968 sitting on a gunboat in Cambodia. I remember what it was like to be shot at by Vietnamese and Khmer Rouge and Cambodians, and have the president of the United States telling the American people that I was not there; the troops were not in Cambodia. I have that memory which is seared -- seared -- in me."

Mr. Muravchik responds, “However seared he was, Kerry's spokesmen now say his memory was faulty. When the Swift boat veterans who oppose Kerry presented statements from his commanders and members of his unit denying that his boat entered Cambodia, none of Kerry's shipmates came forward, as they had on other issues, to corroborate his account.

“If -- as seems almost surely the case -- Kerry himself has lied about what he did in Vietnam, and has done so not merely to spice his biography but to influence national policy, then he is surely not the kind of man we want as our president.”

And this is the guy the president sends to Israel to promise its people how safe they are and should rely on his “absolutely guarantee[ing] that in the future we will have the ability to know what they are doing so that we can still stop them if they decided to move to a bomb.” And for those who believe that one, I have a toll bridge for sale that connects Manhattan and Brooklyn, and I’ll sell it to them for next to nothing.

On another administration policy failure, a new “Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 77% of Likely U.S. Voters now consider illegal immigration a serious problem in America today, with 51% who say it is Very Serious.

“As they have for years, most voters (63%) think gaining control of the border is more important than legalizing the status of undocumented workers already living in the United States. While that’s up just two points from January, it is the highest level of support for border control since December 2011. Thirty percent (30%) believe it’s more important to legalize those already living here, the lowest finding in two years.

“Most voters (63%) still agree that the U.S. military should be used along the Mexican border to prevent illegal immigration, but that’s up from 57% in January and is the highest finding since December 2012. Just 26% disagree, while 12% are undecided.

“Fifty-eight percent (58%) believe providing a pathway to citizenship for those currently in the country illegally will just encourage more illegal immigration, also up from January. Just 24% disagree, but 19% are not sure.

“Similarly, 72% think it’s likely that the Obama administration’s decision to allow the wave of young illegal immigrants last summer to stay will encourage more illegal immigration by young people this summer. Most voters have said for years that the policies and practices of the federal government encourage people to enter the United States illegally.”

So, here we have two subjects, Iran and illegal immigration, just waiting for Republican attention as important keys to the upcoming presidential election. And if those Republican’s lose that race, there’s no category of human intelligence in which to place them. Because, when it comes to stupidity or fabrication for political gain, as demonstrated by the current administration, and especially the likes of a Kerry, no one on earth could be dumber or more corrupt than that.

Which brings us to today’s update on Bill Clinton’s wife, this one more about Bill himself.

FoxNews.com reported that, “Former President Bill Clinton defended his family's foundation amid mounting conflict-of-interest questions, claiming there's nothing "sinister" at work -- while saying he might consider stepping down as foundation president if his wife wins the presidency.”

To date, the foundations raised approximately $2 billion, of which if the records made public are correct, the “foundation” retained about 90%. So, perhaps, he’ll have to get by on only the $1.8 billion that’s left if she wins the presidency.

His claim that there’s nothing “sinister” at work is concerned, brought back memories that, according to Wikipedia, “Bill Clinton, the 42nd President of the United States, was impeached by the House of Representatives on two charges, one of perjury and one of obstruction of justice.”

So, this guy not only lies when needed but has even been impeached for it. Not exactly the type one would want to rely on for factual information, especially concerning himself and/or his family.

That’s it for today folks.

Adios
