Today’s extremely sad for the nation, and also quite perplexing. Because the tragic shooting of two unsuspecting police officers in New York City raises some very profound questions as to why the incident happened at all.

As far as background is concerned, its been painfully obvious for several months now that the US president and attorney general have been stirring emotions by often questioning a Missouri grand jury’s refusal to indict an officer in the fatal shooting of Michael Brown.

As an additional ingredient to the drama, activist Al Sharpton has gained national status as a frequent White House invitee, and top level recognition as an expert in race relations. In that regard, he’s used his new-found spotlight to further incite audiences in anti-establishment behavior wherever he can, including the recent public battle over treatment of officers following the grand jury’s decision not to indict an officer in the death of Eric Garner in NYC.

Consequently, the level of tension across the nation has risen to the extent that demonstrators around the country have staged die-ins and other protests as a result. Culminating yesterday when 28-year-old Ismaaiyl Brinsley, approached the passenger window of a marked police car and opened fire, killing two New York police officers in cold blood.

Now, whatever political beliefs a person may have, there's little doubt that the president and attorney general are two reasonably intelligent individuals. Even Sharpton, who may not be the brightest bulb in the chandelier, certainly has enough intellect to know precisely what he’s doing most of the time. Which leads to the question, in view of their recent attempts at stirring up constituents, what did they think would happen as a result of their race-baiting diatribes?

There are only two logical answers to the query.

Either they knew full well that somewhere, somehow a racial disaster would occur. Or, they simply didn’t consider the potential damage or consequences when shooting their mouths off for self-aggrandizing purposes.

Which means that, either way, they not only bear considerable personal blame for what happened, but together have set the nation back 50 years in racial relations.

That’s it for today folks.

Adios
