BloggeRhythms

Selecting today’s lead-off item presented a difficult choice. Because while two were positive and a third concerned a negative topic, all three were quite favorable for the POTUS.

On the plus side, Jim Hoft  headed his column @thegatewaypundit.com: “Yesterday the US Stock Market set another all time high!"

According to the text: “The Dow Jones Industrial Average recorded its 23rd all time high of 2017 yesterday closing at 21,532.  There have been a total of 120 days where the markets have closed since President Trump’s inauguration on January 20th.

“The ‘DOW’ has closed at all time highs 23 of those days for nearly 20% or one-fifth of the days the market has been open.  The market is up 9% since the inauguration.

“Since the election on November 8th the DOW has closed at record highs an amazing 40 times!   Nearly one-fourth or 24% of the 168 days the markets have closed have been record highs since the November 8th election.  The market is up 17% since the election!”

As far as statistics are concerned, “Americans are benefiting greatly in their 401k’s from the recent change in Administrations.

“By comparison, in Obama’s entire first term, the US stock market (DOW) never reached a new closing high.  In years 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012 the DOW never reached a new high once!”

Comments from readers show, as usual, that the public has a significantly different opinion of the POTUS’s performance than the mainstream media.

lincoln2douglas commented: “While the goofy media concentrates on NOTHING, those of us in Common Sense America are seeing the creation of jobs and the optimism in the stock market.

"Go ahead Media, focus on stupid stuff while average Americans improve their finances. If he wants to, and God-Willing, Trump could easily win re-election in 2020.”

Reader Art presented a different, quite perceptive, point of view: “Not everyone understands the stock market. They do understand they're keeping more money in their pockets, by the gas prices going down, and hopefully will credit POTUS.”

And then, No Mans Land furthered the praise, commenting: “The Trump effect hits record high since he took office! For full employment, housing market, and products such as manufacturing cars and accessories that are made in the US. Can the liberals stop him? No chance!”

Another plus comes from James Q. Lynch @thegazette.com, who headed his column: “After 14 years, U.S. beef hits Chinese market”

Tomorrow, Friday, U.S. Department of Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue and Chinese government officials in Beijing will “ceremonially mark the return of U.S. beef to China after a 14-year ban.”

The Nebraskan meat “shipped last week by a South Omaha meatpacker was reported to be the first shipment of U.S. beef to China since 2003 after officials sealed a long-sought trade deal this month.”

Not only is the exportation an economic plus, but the products sold will upgrade as well. “China is projected to become the largest beef market in the world and a major destination for U.S. beef products, according to American Farm Bureau Federation economist Katelyn McCullock.

Adding to the market potential is China’s changing taste, McCullock said. “In 2003, much of the market there was offal — tongues, kidneys and livers, for example. Today, there has been demand for higher-value “muscle cuts” or steak.”

While the economic news keeps improving around them, Democrats are not only stuck in the same boring rut of searching for non-existent impeachment-worthy evidence against Trump, it seems they’ve now shot themselves in the foot again.

John Solomon and Jonathan Easley @thehill.com titled their article today: “Exclusive: DOJ let Russian lawyer into US before she met with Trump team”

The story’s detailed and follows an important  time trail. Therefore, it’s unedited and posted below:

“The Russian lawyer who penetrated Donald Trump’s inner circle was initially cleared into the United States by the Justice Department under “extraordinary circumstances” before she embarked on a lobbying campaign last year that ensnared the president’s eldest son, members of Congress, journalists and State Department officials, according to court and Justice Department documents and interviews.

“This revelation means it was the Obama Justice Department that enabled the newest and most intriguing figure in the Russia-Trump investigation to enter the country without a visa.

“The Moscow lawyer had been turned down for a visa to enter the U.S. lawfully but then was granted special immigration parole by then-Attorney General Loretta Lynch for the limited purpose of helping a company owned by Russian businessman Denis Katsyv, her client, defend itself against a Justice Department asset forfeiture case in federal court in New York City.

“During a court hearing in early January 2016 as Veselnitskaya’s permission to stay in the country was about to expire, federal prosecutors described how rare the grant of parole immigration was as Veselnitskaya pleaded for more time to remain in the United States.

“In October the government bypassed
the normal visa process and gave a type of extraordinary
permission to enter the country called immigration parole,” Assistant U.S. Attorney Paul Monteleoni explained to the judge during a hearing Jan. 6, 2016.

“That's a discretionary act that the statute allows the Attorney
General to do in extraordinary circumstances. In this case, we
did that so that Mr. Katsyv could testify. And we made the
further accommodation of allowing his Russian lawyer into the
country to assist,” he added.

“The prosecutor said Justice was willing to allow the Russian lawyer to enter the United States again as the trial in the case approached so she could help prepare and attend the proceedings.

“Sources close to the lobbying effort to rename the Magnitsky Act, conducted over the summer of 2016, said it fizzled after only a month or two. They described Veselnitskaya, who does not speak English, as a mysterious and shadowy figure. They said they were confused as to whether she had an official role in the lobbying campaign, although she was present for several meetings.”

Most importantly: “The sources also described their interactions with Veselnitskaya in the same way that Trump Jr. did. They claimed not to know who she worked for or what her motives were.

“Natalia didn’t speak a word of English,” said one source. “Don’t let anyone tell you this was a sophisticated lobbying effort. It was the least professional campaign I’ve ever seen. If she’s the cream of the Moscow intelligence community then we have nothing to worry about.”

“The sources added they met with Veselnitksaya only once or twice over the course of the lobbying campaign, which culminated with airing of a Russian documentary that challenged the notion that Magnitsky was beaten to death in a Russian prison.”

About 80 people, including congressional staffers and State Department employees attended the viewing at the Newseum.”

Reader interest in the story is extremely heavy as 16,620 “Shares” have already been logged by the website.

Another 13,822 reader’s added comments as well.

Mr Spock ✓ᵈᵉᵖˡᵒʳᵃᵇˡᵉ commented: “Jeez, the libtrolls are getting clubbed like baby seals... again...”

Old Hickory added: “So Obama's people let her in with an expired visa before the meeting with Jr. Then she appears with Obama's ambassador to Moscow again a week later. That doesn't smell like a setup does it?”

missinger asked: “Who was it that sold 20 percent of our uranium to the Ruskies?”

Proving once again that the nation’s public is far, far more attuned to what transpires around them than the mainstream media ever takes time to consider.

As far as Democrat leadership’s concerned, Teresa Welsh wrote @mcclatchydc.com yesterday: “Rep. Brad Sherman, D-Calif., has introduced formal articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump, accusing him of obstruction of justice."

However, other Democrats have “expressed concern about Sherman’s effort to impeach Trump over possible ties to Russia, and the resolution had only one cosponsor, Rep. Al Green, D-Tex.”

And then, as a practical matter: “A successful vote for impeachment would require a majority in the House, where Republicans have 46 more seats than Democrats.”

Coming back to reality, the POTUS’s own Facebook thought for today is: “ISIS is on the run and will soon be wiped out of Syria and Iraq, illegal border crossings are way down (75%) and MS 13 gangs are being removed!”

And one more dose of factual input came from Fox Business Network’s “Varney & Company,” yesterday where “Republican entrepreneur Shiva Ayyadurai, who immigrated from India as a child, said he was sure he could beat Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) in the 2018 midterm election.”

“Ayyadurai, who is vying for the nomination in the Republican primary, said, “I’m looking forward to going against Warren. I know how these elites work. I know I can defeat her.”

He added, “I love Donald Trump. I think he’s done a great job. He’s my hero. I’m very fortunate to be part of this moment in history.”

Then came the best line of all. “Referencing Warren’s claim that she has Native American ancestors, Ayyadurai said, “I think only a real Indian can defeat a fake Indian. I sent her a DNA test kit for her birthday, and I was very sad that she returned it. I tweeted it out, and it went viral all over the internet.”

That's it for today folks.

Adios
