BloggeRhythms

It was Mark Twain who said quite a long time ago: “Politicians and diapers must be changed often, and for the same reason.” And today, his words are proven absolutely true again.

In an in interview with Fox News Sunday, "President Obama repeatedly vowed there would be no political influence over the Justice Department’s investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server while secretary of state.”

However, the reality proves to be something else entirely, as described by Ian Schwartz @realclearpolitics.com, who writes: “President Obama is quizzed about the investigation by the FBI Justice Department into former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's private server and non-government e-mail address by FOX News' Chris Wallace on this week's edition of FOX News Sunday. In the interview, Wallace confronted Obama if he can still say flatly that Clinton did not jeopardize America's secrets. Obama also guaranteed there is no political involvement in the ongoing investigation.

“Obama contended she did not jeopardize America's national security, however was "careless" in terms of managing e-mails that she has owned. Obama said the scandal needs to be put in "perspective" as Clinton "served her country" and did an outstanding job.

"Here's what I know," Obama told Wallace. "Hillary Clinton was an outstanding Secretary of State. She would never intentionally put America in any kind of jeopardy."

So, here’s a guy who in the very same interview “vows” to the show's host that “there would be no political influence over the Justice Department’s investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server while secretary of state.”

Yet, according to A.J. Katz @adweek.com, on April 7 Fox News Sunday delivered 1,644,000 total viewers, which will likely be topped this week with the POTUS as a guest. Which means that almost two million individuals will hear him say that he believes Bill Clinton's wife is innocent of any wrongdoing. And, if that isn’t using his office as “political influence,” someone will have to explain to me what is.

On another highly questionable issue, on Thursday, John Kerry said the U.S. and its partners were telling Iran that they were "prepared to work on a new arrangement to find a peaceful solution to [some] issues. [But,] “Iran first had to make it clear to all involved that they were prepared to cease provocative ballistic missile launches and tests.”

In response, Nasser Karimi an Associated Press reporter writes, via Drudge, that: “Iran's foreign minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif , after meeting with his Estonian counterpart, Marina Kaljurand today said “The missile program and "defense capabilities of the Islamic Republic of Iran are not negotiable."

He added that: "if Washington was serious about defensive issues in the Middle East, it should stop supplying arms to Saudi Arabia and Israel.

“A Saudi-led coalition has been conducting airstrikes and battling the Iran-backed Shiite rebels in Yemen since March 2015. Iran also supports anti-Israeli militant groups.”

Thus we have another confirmation that after getting $100 billion back by conning the administration with fabrications about its only interest in nuclear development being peaceful applications for scientific advances, the nation is steadily building the case to support its coming aggression within the region.

In what further serves well as an indication of the administration's true concerns about peaceful solutions to continually escalating problems in the region, Kellan Howell, @washingtontimes.com reports today: “The U.S. Air Force has deployed B-52 long-range bombers to the Middle East, for the first time since the Gulf War ended, to conduct strikes against the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria, officials said Saturday.

An unknown number of B-52s will be based at Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, the U.S. Air Force Central Command said in a statement.

“The B-52s will provide the coalition continued precision and deliver desired airpower effects,” Lt. Gen. Charles Q. Brown Jr., commander, U.S. Air Forces Central Command and Combined Forces Air Component said, Fox News reported.

“The announcement comes a day after Secretary of State John Kerry said the U.S. would “turn up the pressure further” against the Islamic State during a surprise visit to Baghdad Friday to meet with Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi.”

So, coming back to Mark Twain's point about the similarity between politicians and diapers, while politicians haven’t changed an iota for the better, at least diapers today are now disposable altogether with a simple flush.

And then, a friend emailed this this morning.

Bringing us to today’s update on Bill Clinton’s wife.

Jessie Hellmann @thehill.com/blogs reports that: “Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders has won the Wyoming caucuses, giving him eight wins in the last nine contests.”

While Sanders won nearly 56 percent of the vote, he and Bill’s wife will split the state's 14 delegates between them.

In Ms Hellman’s opinion: “Even so, the win is another jolt of momentum for the Vermont senator heading into the critical New York primary on April 19.”

And then, the next paragraph contains further indication that Bill himself may be losing mojo, because his campaign appearances don’t seem to mean too much to anyone anymore.

Ms. Hellman writes: “Both campaigns paid little attention to Wyoming. Sanders held a rally there Tuesday. Clinton did not go to the state, but her husband, former President Bill Clinton, did.”

So, it looks like there may be an unusual phenomenon occurring on the campaign trail. Because while politicians are often referred to as empty suits, in Bill’s wife’s campaign, there are two of them often appearing simultaneously.

Leading to the repeating question: Joe Biden, Mayor Bloomberg, Jerry Brown, and Starbuck’s chairman and CEO, Howard Schultz, are you guys reading this?

That’s it for today folks.

Adios
