Several items today, each illustrating what happens when the chief executive of the U.S., and those with him, care more about politics and biased rhetoric than about what really goes on in the world.

 

Fox News.com reports that, “The Obama administration is reversing its plans to cut the amount of U.S. troops in Afghanistan to 5,500 by the end of the year, appeasing military leaders who want to keep more troops into 2016, U.S. officials say.

 

“Officials have said the administration is poised to slow the withdrawal of forces and probably will allow most of the 9,800 American troops to remain in the embattled country, although no final decision on numbers has been made yet.”

 

Therefore, this is a case where no  matter how hard the POTUS tries to fulfill a major campaign promise by achieving total troop withdrawal, those pesky Al Qaeda terrorists simply won’t let him do it. 

 

Next, according to The Hill’s Timothy Cama, “The debate over climate science has taken a nasty turn.”

 

Mr. Cama writes that Vice President Biden painted skeptics of climate change as stupid in a recent interview on the HBO program “Vice,” saying, “I think it’s close to mindless. I think it’s like, you know, almost like denying gravity now.” 

 

At the same time, “Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.) at a March meeting was surprised to see that EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy did not know the details of previous climate change models.”

 

The senator said, “This is a stunning development, that the head of the Environmental Protection Agency, who should know more than anybody else in the world, who’s proposing hundreds of billions of dollars in costs to prevent this climate and temperature increases, doesn’t know whether their projections have been right or wrong.” 

 

However, as the senator should well know, facts and gathered data presenting results conflicting with this administration’s agenda have never been considered at all. Unless and until, they surface elsewhere at which time they’re always ignored, denied or denigrated.  

 

Which brings us to another example of how the incumbent president demonstrates how little he cares about spending taxpayer’s hard earned incomes and/or savings.  

 

According to Kieran Corcoran For Dailymail.com, and many other news outlets, “The President and First Lady both filmed TV appearances in Burbank, California on Thursday - but billed taxpayers for two separate private flights to get there.

 

“Barack Obama took Air Force One to LAX, at a cost of more than $1million, so he could be on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

 

But, rather than ride with him, Michelle Obama chartered a different, earlier plane for a slot on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, filmed in the same LA suburb as Kimmel's program.”

 

Pricewise, “Air Force One costs more than $200,000 an hour to fly, meaning the tab for Obama's flight to Los Angeles will have passed the $1million mark by itself.

 

“The specifics of the First Lady's travel arrangements are not clear, though it is likely to have stacked tens of thousands of dollars on to the overall cost.”

 

So, what today’s items illustrate is the miserable result’s deriving when an administration has no regard or caring for the public it’s supposed to be leading.
